This wins the “Best Value for Money Food” Award out of all the new food I tried in SG. I ordered choco chip in a bread which tasted exactly that (SGD 1.50). It’s so good, I didn’t expect the ice cream to have that much flavor. Let’s support uncle~

Walk along the sidewalk at Orchard rd from the Takashimaya to Ion side and you might spot Uncle Chieng's food cart. Its a popular sidewalk snack with a long line of customers anytime of the day. Got the Ice cream sandwich with Wafer instead of bread. Its cheap.... delicious and gone in 60 seconds. In hindsight I should have gotten 2 flavors. Lots of flavors to choose from and prep time takes less than 2 minutes. There are benches nearby where you can sit down. During the night, the stairs in front of the buildings is also a popular option to sit down. Proper disposal of course with trash bins nearby. Totally amazed by the energy of the old couple running the store. Most people would pay and not take the change in support of this amazing sidewalk ice cream icon. Personally I prefer this snack during the night as you stroll along the not so busy streets. If if you chance upon this cart along the sidewalk... just go for it no matter how long the line. Sometimes its the simple things in life that brings great joy.

Uncle Chieng Traditional Ice Cream is a beloved dessert spot in Singapore, known for its nostalgic charm and classic flavors. Specializing in traditional ice cream and wafer sandwiches, it brings back fond memories of childhood treats enjoyed in the tropics. Uncle Chieng’s ice cream cart has become a familiar sight, capturing the hearts of locals and tourists alike with its simple yet satisfying offerings. The highlight of Uncle Chieng’s menu is the traditional ice cream served in three distinct ways: between crispy wafer biscuits, sandwiched in soft rainbow bread, or in a cup for those who prefer a simpler option. The flavors range from classic favorites like vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry to uniquely local varieties such as durian, sweet corn, and red bean. Each bite offers a creamy texture and rich flavor, made with recipes that preserve the authenticity of traditional ice cream-making. What sets Uncle Chieng apart is its commitment to tradition and affordability. For decades, such street-side ice cream vendors have been a cultural icon in Singapore, offering a slice of nostalgia to generations of Singaporeans. Uncle Chieng continues this legacy, ensuring that the experience of enjoying a cool treat on a warm day remains accessible and meaningful. Whether you’re seeking a quick refreshment on a sunny afternoon or a taste of old-school Singapore, Uncle Chieng Traditional & Wafer Ice Cream is a must-visit. It’s not just ice cream—it’s a sweet slice of Singaporean heritage.

Wondering why so many people queueing at the trishaw 😝😝🤭🤣 Joined the queue and ordered my yam flavour ice cream block on bread slide. Beside bread, the uncle also offer ice cream block on wafer and cone. The bread is yummy with attractive colours 😁. Pretty good and deserve a 4 out of 5 stars for a street ice cream. Recommended to try.

Various flavors of ice cream combined with bread or biscuits. One of the cheapest dessert in Singapore. Tastes really good so it's quite crowded with locals and tourists, yep it's very popular. Worth to try. Currently the price has increased to $1.5 from $1.2

In two consecutive days we enjoy this ice cream. Located at orchard. Easy to find. Slice of ice cream with soft bread. We have try vanilla, vanilla with choco chips and taro All the taste is delicious, but we like the most is choco chips. You should try this ice cream if you are strolling around orchard road. Recommend and approved by me!

Right in front of the Ngee Ann City, Orchard. This uncle🧓 sell the "OLD SCHOOL" ice-cream in a traditional trishaw. It has a very traditional ice-cream taste😋, and you eat it the traditional "OLD SCHOOL" way. Remind me of the childhood days🥰. …
