Definitely one of the best mixed veg rice stalls in Singapore. Salted egg yolk pork rib is their signature dish, and supremely delicious. Prawn paste chicken is a boneless crispy delicacy. The lotus root soup was also flavourful and delish. The rest of the dishes I tried were also excellent. The stall is very busy during lunch with limited seats, but you will always be able to find a seat, as diners typically finish their meal in 10 mins on average and move off.

One of the most expensive you can find at Orchard Rd. Simple 2 veg + 2 meat rice combo cost almost SGD10, that otherwise cost less in a normal food court. And this shop is old looking and not worth the price paying for. Avoid it if you're not overly hungry.

Best lunch place in the city area yet affordable. Tried their Fried Chicken, Stir Fry Long Beans, omellete, and salted pork for $10. Must try the first 2, the salted pork is not as fragrant as the chicken, but still soft and edible. Get the soup of the day for $1 only with, small bits of meat. Lunch time is very crowded, to aim before 12pm to ensure place for dining in :)

Probably the best place for cai fan (rice and assorted dishes) in Singapore. However after 2pm the menu changes to a different menu The dishes are cooked in batches, and there are always queues, meaning it’s fresh. Although the food is tasty, it’s not oily. There’s also a variety of classic favourites and hard to find specials (salted egg yolk pork chop). You can also request for soup. Also brown rice option. Especially for orchard road, the price is reasonable - $7.50 for brown rice with tofu, 2 veggie, 1 omelette and 1 soup. Even though there are queues, the staff are efficient and you rarely wait more than 5-10 mins for your turn to order and even sit (most are takeaways). Truly a rare gem where there are healthy options, tasty, in the middle of shopping district.

Everytime I come Far East Plaza for lunch on a weekday, there will always a long queue for this store. My curiosity was piqued and wanted to know what was the hype. A great variety of dishes from vegetables, meat and sides. Rice grains is the grainy type. Small dining space, buy 1st then take a seat. Separate queue for takeaway. Was flabbergasted when my 3 Veg 1 Meat was charged at $7.50. Dk how the pricing system works but taste wise pretty average cai fan level. Veg were pretty nice and warm. Ordered the pork salted egg and its rather tough and wet. I rate: 3/5 🌟 Soup is $1 a bowl which I think is the cheapest really because the ingredients and time taken to boil this actually takes lots of effort. The soup of the day was Black Beans chicken soup. A lot of beans. Soup is piping hot. I rate: 5/5 🌟

If you like to identify good food shops based on the length of the queue, then this is a good place to come to. At 12 noon on a weekday, the queue was already almost 20 people deep. The shop itself is smallish with limited and somewhat cramped seating. It was filled to capacity when I joined the queue. I wondered whether I would be able to get a seat while I was queuing, but at it turned out, a few tables were clear when I reached the head of the queue, so I was fortunate to get a seat The food itself was not spectacular. I have had much better in many other places. None of them in the vicinity, though. Was surprised to be charged $8 for a dish of rice with sweet & sour pork, two vegetables and one omelette. Paid an additional $1 for lotus root soup. Now, lotus root soup is one of my all- time favourites. The shop's version is bland and tastes as if it was diluted with tap water before being served to me. Regretted ordering it, even for $1. I'm guessing that the long queue is because you might not get a better lunch deal in the Scott's Road/Orchard Road area. Indeed, after I had eaten my lunch, the queue was still about 20 people deep. If you are working in the vicinity, it probably would make a lot of sense to visit this place, as the alternatives could cost more. But if you are from another part of Singapore (I work in the Chinatown area), there is no point stopping by and paying $8 for food that would cost around $5 elsewhere, and yet not taste as good. Value: 2/5 if you are not working in the vicinity. Taste: 3/5

got a chance to try out this old school looking place at Far East plaza. was lucky the queue was short. Egg, meat and vegetables total $6.5. Sounds ex but considering the area, pricing is not bad. food was tasty. Note that seats are very few and they don't sell drinks.

We were famished and the rule of thumb is, most things tastes wonderful when you're hungry. However we were quite disappointed with the taste over what we had at Susan's corner. Our usual eat wasn't opened hence we decided to try Susan's corner. We were welcomed by really hospitable aunties which we greatly appreciate her recommendation and hospitality. We ordered their signature white beehoon & looking over what others were eating, we decided to follow suit and ordered the salted egg yolk pork ribs. Disappointed because the white beehoon is anything but your expectation of popular white beehoon with seafood that's served at many zichar stalls. This was more like the stalls own rendition of white fried beehoon. We were quite puzzled also when we found many curry leaves in the beehoon as well as chilli padi.although we love chilli, finding this in the beehoon just seems weird. As for the curry leaves, we're not sure if it was conveniently added because we also ordered the salted egg pork rib. our verdict is that it is overly salty, rather dry with random ingredients and it lacked fragrance. The salted pork ribs has 0 salted egg taste unfortunately. The meat is well marinated with Hua diao cooking wine but this really doesn't help bringing out the taste of the salted egg and really just tastes like big pieces of salty meat marinated with Hua diao wine. Overall we are quite disappointed with our meal especially being so hungry. I think Susan's corner needs to have a better focus on the tastes of the dishes it wants patrons to taste.

$5.50 for no rice 2 veg 1 meat caifan What’s good is that the veg is not so greasy, quite tasty. Portion could be a bit better though..
