I was at the Taiyaki store at the Isetan basement supermarket. It was around 8pm so I asked the auntie if the taiyaki sitting there is still fresh. She wouldn’t get the baker to make a new one, so she told me it was still warm. It was obviously a lie. My child bit into it and it was cold, and the cheese had already hardened. I confronted her about it and she still had the audacity to insist that it is warm, after she had touched it again. I went straight to the Japanese store owner and, to my disbelief, he tossed the half eaten taiyaki back into the maker to heat it up. Does Isetan really not have any sense of food safety and hygiene? First a liar, then a dirty baker. PSA: Save your $6 and go to Takashimaya instead. It is made to order there for <$4.
