I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. The environment is beautiful, quiet, and creates a very pleasant atmosphere. Although it is a Western restaurant, the flavors are well balanced and have a nice fusion style, making it enjoyable even for friends who usually don’t prefer Western food. The bread, steak, chicken, and shrimp are especially worth recommending – all cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Overall, it’s a great place to relax and enjoy delicious food in a lovely setting.

The appetizers were to die for. The home made Kubaneh bread was so good that we had a second serving (4 pax). I think every single table ordered that as well. The grilled octopus with Lao Gam Ma sauce was great too. And totally enjoyed the fries with mentaiko mayo. Personally I felt the appetizers were superior to the mains. I had the miso steak which was alright. The uni and scallop pasta was good. Overall the vibe was nice and comfy. Perfect for a boys night out.

I went to collect an online order, and a staff member in black helped me. However, she seemed clueless and had to get someone else. When I collected my order, I was informed that I was entitled to a $4 voucher with an additional $20 purchase, but it could only be used immediately, on the spot. I acknowledged the information and took the voucher, but then the staff member stopped me. He repeated, "It has to be used NOW, on the spot. If you're not using it, I have to take it back!" What kind of management is this at Wastons? Is this the instructions to the retail?

The best thing on the menu for us was undoubtedly the signature kubaneh bread with kombu and garlic butter. Warm, rich and slightly crusty, the pull-apart rolls were so delightful, we ordered 2 servings. We also had small plates of cauliflower and broccolini and mains of salmon, pork and wagyu. The salmon was the best of the mains although a bit oily and salty. The medium for the wagyu was too rare and we had it sent back for more cooking. We would go back for the bread!

I like the concept of small plates and being able to choose between Asian or Western style cooking for the dishes. It's an interesting approach to be able to try different flavours and styles of cooking in one place. Flank steak - enjoyed everything on this plate except the mashed potato. Red wine jus was well done. Laksa linguine - Came with fishcake, prawns, quail eggs, taupok. Kubaneh bread - crusty, soft, warm. Kombu butter was the star. It's a causal cafe so the service level is also causal. Just because they're in Orchard, don't expect high level customer service or knowledge about the menu. Once you don't have this level of expectation, dining at Binary can be better with one eye closed.

My favourite was the Kubaneh bread! It was so good that we ordered another portion of it. Goes very well with the rest of the sauces from the other dishes. You can expect all the tapas dishes to be flavourful and yummy. Overall, a place with nice vibes and food. The service was excellent. Pearlynn, the manager, was friendly and recommended us great food choices. One thing to note, be sure to call and reserve for a high table if you want to enjoy the food comfortably.

We were the only customers on a quiet Sunday afternoon and had the chance to try their new menu. For starters, we ordered the bread and asparagus. The bread was perfectly toasted, crispy on the outside like a croissant and soft inside. It came with garlic butter and kombu butter, the latter being a standout with its rich, salty flavor that paired beautifully with the toast. The asparagus was served with a sesame mayo-based sauce, well-seasoned and flavorful. The fries were nothing special, skippable if you’re avoiding extra carbs. For mains, we had the chicken, steak, and pasta. The chicken was slightly undercooked, but the sauce that accompanied it was delicious. The steak, however, was a must-try. Flavored with miso that wasn’t overpowering and served with a uniquely blended pickle. The pasta was well-cooked, generously loaded with fresh seafood. Dessert was a chocolate mousse and a toffee pudding. Both were beautifully presented and tasted almost perfect. The mousse was rich dark chocolate, served with a warm egglet, while the pudding was moist and warm, paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Service was excellent, attentive and friendly.

Kubaneh bread was warm, fluffy and went well with the 2 different types of butter. Wagyu cubes were delicious too. Though I have to say the mac and cheese wasn’t that great. Acceptable. But not wow. Either way, place has very nice and chill vibes perfect for a casual date night. Would come back to try the other dishes. Price point is pretty decent as final bill came out to $55.
