Very fresh and generous servings of sashimi. Beef dishes were very good especially the wagyu rice on hot stone. There were many dishes that were not available when we were there but fortunately whatever we ordered were good. Tempura dishes can be further improved- the dough was too thick and oily. Tampopo is a reliable restaurant for group meals. Although not an exciting place, it has maintained its food quality over the many years.

Ordered udon and tempura don. Portions were generous and the food was yummy. Apple juice was freshly extracted. If dining with children, one serving of udon is good enough for two children. Service was prompt. Just that the table was cramped. Both the table and space below the table.

Tampopo Grand is a culinary gem that consistently delivers an exquisite dining experience. The restaurant's dedication to authentic Japanese flavors shines through in every dish, from their mouthwatering ramen to the impeccably fresh sushi. The curry rice dish is the star dish of this place, but if you are craving for nice street food such as yaki soba, you would not be disappointed.

Food were super delicious and good quality, portion was very generous. Sashimi were fresh and thick sliced. Salmon and Crab maki so yummy. Basically no complaint on the food. I can't say the same for service. The waitress who served us and the lady cashier were rather impatient and rude. We will still come back though, the food was really good....just don't expect friendly waitresses.

Wonderful jap lunch on a Thursday. Left feeling satisfied with a return date in mind And we were back again 2 weeks later! Lovely Jap lunch, again! Post Edit(13.12.2024): We are back again after 2 years to celebrate my partner’s birthday Food and service met expectations! Freshness is almost unbeatable. But place feels jaded, time for owner to refresh the joint!

Great Quality Japanese Food I ordered the California roll, the trio set with tender beef, pork and chicken, and the lobster set. Presentation and taste were on point. Would come again and try more of the sets and sashimi

The trio bowl is delicious and I would love to come back to try the other types. The chuturo bowl is more rice then tuna, so u run out of tuna and left with quite a lot of rice. Place is not v large so better reservations if you are coming on weekend.

Taste wise - The soya source for sashimi and the dipping source for Shabu Shabu is tooooo salty. Service wise - no refill for drinking water(if it‘s free then I’ll just suck it but it not) and salty source makes it feel even worse. And we were kept being recommended or rather ‘pushed’ to order expensive dishes even we refused.

Disappointed with their Korubuta Tonkatsu Jyo Set (most expensive one) the breading was not coated properly and not tender enough, taste bland.

Our favourite go-to for casual Japanese dining. The restaurant is nicely done up, and the best seats are the 3 booths that get taken up quickly. There is an extensive menu ranging from sashimi, sushi, tempura to Shabu Shabu. The service staff led by Indika is very friendly and attentive. The empty dishes are cleared promptly, and the green tea gets refilled without our asking. Their weekday lunch sets are the best value for money. The weekday lunch special menu changes regularly. We had the Hokkaido Gozen (S$25++) and the Saba Shioyaki Gozen (S$22++), and both were excellent at that price point. They were having premium beer promotions when we were there. We were told that the beers were brought in by the Tampopo group and not available at the supermarkets. Do note that the restaurant does get very busy on weekends, and reservations are recommended. Was back again, and we had the Ladies Special (S$25) and the Grand Special Gozen Box (S$50). They were both very good and valued for money. We decided to try the Omakase dinner, which is available only on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Reservations are required, and there is limited seating. Dinner starts at 7 pm. We have had quite a few Omakase meals at different Japanese restaurants, and Tampopo Grand has the best value for money. The ingredients in their Omakase Platinum were very fresh and presented on beautiful crockery. The chef was going around the tables explaining about the food. We will definitely be back for more Omakase dining.
