Orchard MRT Station has been around for decades, since I was literally a small kid. Wonderful this station remains clean, and even more accessible than before with underground and ground level connections to so many places around downtown Orchard Road. This stations serves both the red North South Line and the brown Thomson East Coast Line, which makes it extra convenient. It may be a bit busy during peak hours so just watch your step. There are plenty of friendly staff to assist if needed too.

Unlike many other MRT stations which is opened and spacious, Orchard MRT Station is appallingly gaudy. The combination of the dark brown coloured stone walls, the LED lightings which is piercingly bright and inconspicuous signage to aid commuters moving from the different levels (exit for street level, NS line and Thomson line). I came across a lady looking for the exit in the NSline concourse, The design, decoration & layout are just too busy for the eyes. Please like, if you agree with my observations.

It’s so damn difficult to get a ticket for the train. At the ticket sales counter, they only can receive cash to sell the tickets. At this counter, station master counter and all the ticketing machines, they no longer sell single trip ticket neither. And at the gantries, none takes paylah, paynow, nor Amex; only Mastercard and Visa. So, travellers are pretty wasted at the station when they don’t have a mrt card with them. Terrible! This is like cashless but not cashless.

uhhhh do people actually rate mrt stations? based on what ah :'-) its quite clean (as with most mrt stations in sg anyws) and even tho there's a lot of exits theyre all marked quite clearly w what malls they lead to,,, etc,,, so u wont get lost easily 👍👍 usually quite crowded but cant be helped i guess,,,, just take note ?? ;v;;;;;
