Was contemplating for lunch during weekend near the usual famous zichar stall. Next to it, this shop drew my attention. There were not many people in the shop during lunchtime, but I gave it a go. Ordered 2 rice set meals and 1 ala carte meal. Price was very affordable! And surprisingly the foods were decent and nice. I can say this could be a hidden gem right under our nose. Give it a try!

I came here for lunch with my colleagues at work and we ordered three items to share. ​ Firstly, there was the 🍲 Mala, which is about 100g for $2.88 regardless of whether you choose meat or vegetables. We opted for small spicy, and it was really flavorful without being too oily or too salty. The vegetables were nice and crispy, and the portion size was good too. 🍲 ​We also ordered an Egg Fried Rice, which I thought was seriously underwhelming. However, for $6, the portion size is pretty good. It contained an array of vegetables like cucumber and carrots, and one egg. It was done quite haphazardly, and even though it was nothing special, I guess it serves as a very safe carb option. ​ 🍗 The Prawn Paste Chicken Winglets ($12 for 8 pcs) was surprisingly good and did not have that refrigerator taste. The pieces were really big; eight pieces of succulent and very well-marinated chicken. It’s very rare that I can actually taste the flavor of the prawn paste in the marinade, and I would highly recommend this as a sharing dish. It tastes exceptionally delicious when it is piping hot out of the oil. ​The dining space here is quite small. They have about three people working in the kitchen to fulfill your order, so the waiting time is roughly about 10 minutes. The space is rather small and can perhaps house about 4 groups of people only.

This is the most tasteless horfun I have ever had. Plus no wok hei at all. It looks dark and nice but no taste or saltiness, I thought I lost my tastebuds. I guess the chefs do not specialise in zichar dishes.

Have been visiting this restaurant for over a year. Thumbs up for the 水煮鱼, 水煮肉 and 麻婆豆腐. Taste of the mala is good and very generous with the ingredients as well. Price of the above mentioned is also competitive ($10-$20) sufficient for 2 - 3 pax. Hope they keep their standard up. Visited again and tried the 酸菜鱼. Also another good dish.

Tried the Mala Xiang Guo 麻辣香锅 this afternoon 17 Oct 2020. I spent around $14 , including rice and home made lime juice which is really good. I had the medium spiciness 中辣 which is ok, not really spicy for me so maybe I will go for the spiciest option next time. Food is nice, I enjoyed it. Currently they charge $2 per 100g for mushrooms and vegetables, and $3 per 100g for meat and seafood. $1.50 for dry base and $1.80 for soup base. Minimum order $8.00. Considered more expensive compared to many other places I tried. They are listed on all major food delivery platforms.

Not recommended. We tried this restaurant. But we found out why it’s empty and no guest . The lady is very rude and was yelling after paying . Also , no tissues. You have to buy. Not recommended.

I've ordered 3 dishes. Sliced potatoes, hotplate beancurd and 辣子鸡。for $12, I'm paying for crumbs. Please look at the picture I've taken, all crumbs and no chicken. Even with chicken, the batter was so thick !!!! When I feedback to the staff, he merely said he'll tell the kitchen. He then went on to get busy and that's it. He didn update me on anything. I've asked for the bill and I asked him what is he going to do with the 辣子鸡? He said he will feedback. So what happens to those I'm having now ? I refused to pay for crumbs. The kitchen staff keeps trying to justify why it was like that.. anyway, end of the day they did not charge me for it. And please, maybe their 麻辣香锅 is good(from Google reviews). But never order their 辣子鸡。it should be renamed 辣子粉!!!!!

I like going around to try mala xiangguo 😁 I think this is not too bad. First time ordering it. Though I'll probably have to ask for 重口味 because medium spice is like small spice level and the flavours are a tad bit muted. But still tastes decent. If you come around Orchard can try here. 👍🏻 …

🤩 Eating here was a random find, and no regrets at all 🥳 Ordered the mala fish slice bowl, the mala tofu and the claypot eggplant (the taste was wonderfully unique and balanced the other mala dishes so well‼️) and they were all deliciously awesome 👏 📍To all mala lovers and fans of spicy food, this kitchen is a must visit‼️ 🌈 Definitely coming back!!

One of the affordable restaurants in Far East Plaza. Not so crowded like other famous restaurants near by. The taste was just normal personally, but the meat was tender, a bit too strong-taste sauce for my liking. Staff were kind. I had a good impression.
