Have always loved shilin ji pa! The outlet here is at the basement of 313 somerset. Taste and quality is the same as all other outlets. Highly recommend their ji pa here - crispy skin and juicy meat, super tasty! Their oyster mee sua is also very good! Do come and visit this outlet if you’re nearby (do note that it’s only available for takeaway though)

Using the coupon $5.90 to redeem. The century egg is so little. If $7.50... i will go hungry.

For the love of Taiwan's munchies, I visited 313 Somerset outlet to get takeout. Contrary to unfavorable reviews, I didn't encounter hostile/disrespectful service crew of sorts; my takeout experience was generally good (perhaps the kiosk is now manned by an entirely different set of crew manning). The service crew taking order was polite and prompt. My order included: - XXL Crispy Chicken ala carte (fragrant powder only) - Sausage crepe (no sauce no coriander) With 3 customers ahead of me, the wait was acceptable. All was okay until the crew informed of the sausage crepe inadvertently doused with sauce and coriander which I had earlier specified to omit. He expressed regret, apologizing on behalf of his co-worker in charge of making crepes, and immediately got him to remake which would take another 6mins or so. As assured, I collected my food order without hiccup, and received another apology plus a packet of Homemade Honey Lemon Cooler (with compliments) to compensate for the inconvenience caused. I appreciate the crew's apology, attitude and prompt action in rectifying the situation. Notwithstanding the hiccup earlier on, we're satisfied with the overall outcome and have enjoyed the tasty sausage crepe with generous toppings and moreish XXL fried chicken that's evenly seasoned with fragrant powder, crispy and juicy!

I've been a loyal customer of Shihlin for many years, always returning for their signature crispy chicken. However, I’ve noticed a few disappointing changes over time. The price has steadily increased, while the portion size seems to have gotten smaller. I always order the crispy chicken and request only sour plum powder as seasoning. What surprised me today was being told that replacing the default chili and pepper powder with sour plum powder now costs an extra 50 cents, bringing the total to $7. It feels unreasonable to charge extra just for swapping one seasoning for another. I still like the food, but with rising prices and added charges like this, it’s getting harder to justify the value.

I never had a problem ordering Shihlin before but on 03 April 2025, I ordered the XXL chicken value set and noticed the portion of the chicken was significantly smaller than past orders. The sweet plums fries aren't as sweet either, they are quite bland. Additionally, the cashier answered a personal phone call while I was paying, causing a delay.

It’s our wedding anniversary and we chose to have our dinner at the highly raved Modu. I’m so glad we did because overall it was Soo good! From how we were greeted warmly and politely at the registration by a beautiful lady in white. Followed by Ley who made our first visit here on our special date a memorable one. The chicken is tender, the soup is flavourful and rich. The atmosphere is cosy and the explanation of the dishes was very detailed and impressive. Shows how committed the staff is, and how worthy to visit! Highly recommended! We had the 2gather set with Perilla seed soup and Beauty Soup. Yummms!

We worshipped Korean cuisine, and this one has queues when they first open. So we took a Tuesday off (18.11.2025) and arrived here before 11:00, and was seated around 11:10 I guessed every items on the menu would be sensational, we ordered the 2- Gather menu $98++ for 2, I chose the Hangover soup, tbh I never had this soup in Seoul and my ‘virgin’ Hangover, let me say, deserves a Bib Gourmand. My date got the Beauty soup, and it was another winner. We enjoyed ourselves 100% and the service was above our expectations. And our server gave us a surprise complimentary treat one floor up Tofu-G, (sister of MODU I was told) he stamped our receipt to retrieve our sweets, I want to say thank you to you. One of the best Tuesday we had.

We missed the slot right when they opened so had to wait for the 2nd seating. They say wait time is 90 minute but it's actually quite fast. Once we placed our order the food arrived quite fast. The food was filling. The set was more than enough for 2 pax. I ordered the collagen chicke herbal soup, minari pancake and top up with the black sesame ice cream. They created new distinctive taste using traditional ingredients in a non-traditional way. It was well worth the wait.

Tried the Samgyetang, and it was exceptional. The broth was deeply nourishing yet remarkably clean, with none of the heaviness that often comes with ginseng chicken soup. The chicken was tender and intact, infused all the way through, and thoughtfully garnished with ginseng, ginko, and aromatics that enhanced rather than overwhelmed the dish. Comforting, refined, and clearly cooked with intention. Presentation across the set was minimalist and tasteful, very much in line with the restaurant’s upscale positioning. Ended with dessert, which surprised me. Subtle sweetness with a tinge of cheese and milk, excellent texture, and a clean finish, the kind of dessert that feels intentional rather than obligatory. Service was calm, attentive, and unhurried, and the overall experience felt polished without being stiff. Modu delivers Korean food with restraint, depth, and modern elegance. A place I would happily return to for both comfort and quality. Highly recommended.
