Still the best mala xiang guo in town, even after so many competitors came up! The sauce is very nice: not too spicy. rich and flavourful! Good balance of different spices. Pleasant to eat!

Probably my no.1 place to have mala hot pot in SG! The slight spicy is 🌶🌶🌶 already Vegetable options are plenty, meat quality is great!

Enjoyed one of the best Singaporean noodle soup where we could choose the meat variety, veggies, noodles & the level of spiciness. Two devoured a BIG BOWL & thoroughly LOVED IT🍀

I was walking around 313@somerset when I saw this little shop at the basement. I was quite excited to see they are selling martabak (basically Indonesian version of pancake/min Jiang kueh that is more decadent and unhealthy). My normal go-to for martabak is pancake boss at Bugis so decided to give this one a try. I ordered the original and top up $4 for wijsman butter. Total damage is $19.90. A bit on the pricy side when compared to pancake boss. The martabak can easily feed 2-3 people (better to share due to high calories). The martabak is delicious, sweet and a little salty from the cheese. They use good quality chocolate rice (much better than the one used by pancake boss). Nice to see more martabak shops in SG (there is another martabak shop in ION Orchard but I have not tried it). Overall, I highly recommend this shop for your martabak fix.

Served by a really nice lady who double checked my order as I got the bakso meatballs without vermicellia. Really huge juicy roundness which I gobbled down and forgot to take photos. Would really love to try the fish dumplings which were not available when I visited. Wide variety of pancake flavours many of which are tantalising unique combinations.

Great food and superb taste..The oxtail fried rice is special. The oxtail is so tender and match well with spicy fried rice and not so oily. The fried duck rice is nice and tasty. It will be good if the duck can be fried a bit more crispy. The yellow chicken soup is tasty as well, can’t complain much. In overall, Warung Surabaya is a great and nice restaurant which serve authentic and tasty Indonesian food. Really recommended!

Disappointing experience. I find the restaurant is not very ethical in their presentation of food. The restaurant was re-branded from Surabaya to Gading Street Food. So I went down to try their monthly special "Gudeg Yogya". Check out the attached image for what is shown on their menu. On the menu, it shows $7 for a plate of gudeg set menu, consists of rice, gudeg nangka, krecek, and egg. While paying, first surprise was.. I got to top-up $1.50 for the rice. Which I paid. To my surprise, only later on I learned that the meal also doesn't include krecek. I got to top-up again for the krecek. So $7 was only just for what seems like pathetic 2 spoonfull of jackfruit and a boiled egg. That's it. What was shown on the menu, was totally different than the real meal. And I wasn't informed upon ordering about no krecek, only rice, jackfruit and egg... for $8.50. After complaining the staffs were apologizing , asked me to come back and will give me extra portion of krecek. Which is weird. They returned me $3 after I asked cos I feel cheated. I don't get what I paid for. At that time, the overall experience has been very unpleasant. If the meal cost $10 then the restaurant should just put it as $10, rather than put it as $7 and then under-deliver. It makes customer feel cheated.

Edit: I went there when the place was named "Surabaya". I have not been there under the new brand I have been here many times before and today was my first time trying their Fried Tilapia Fish and Terong Balado (not-so-spicy eggplant). The fish was crispy on the outside but meat at the inside was still tender. Its salty taste combined with spiciness of chili and sweetness of black soy sauce is heaven. The eggplant was also tasty although it was not as spicy as expected. But texture was still firm and I guess they put garlic (or fried it with garlic), which gave the garlicky taste which I love a lot. Conclusion, good things come in pairs so you should try them together for guilty (read: oily) pleasure.
