We were looking to buy a Wells water purifier and waited a long time for their representative to arrive, Kavitha came over to help us and even though she was just working for Tangs, she was helpful and knowledgable. We were impressed!

Had a comforting shopping experience at TangsPlaza Orchard on 2-October. I was at Level2 jewellery section, set my eyes on three nice rings and wanted to buy them. I needed ring boxes but the sales person was not there. So I approached Ms Elizabeth (a kind & gentle cashier near RIA shoes) for help. Initially she was busy, but later she went extra mile to find the ring boxes for me. When I was going to make payment, I suddenly felt unwell and had to sit down to rest a bit. I sat on a stool at RIA shoe area. I told Elizabeth I will pay for the items after resting. Elizabeth showed me empathy and asked me if I needed anything. I was very touched by her warm concern. Though caring for customer wellness was out of her scope of work, she went beyond her boundaries to delight me. Another cashier Ms Cheng also enquired about how I was, when I was well again to make payment. Later, the female duty manager came and to check on me. TangsPlaza Orchard is not merely a departmental store. Apart from customer service, I have also received unexpected gestures of care, empathy and warmth there.

I still remember visiting it as a small child in the late 1960s and early 1970s, when it first began its journey in the heart of Singapore’s premier shopping district. 🟠 All these years later, I find myself always returning—this time with my husband—for a walk down memory lane, only to discover how it continues to evolve with the times. ____________________________________ 🟦 Store Layout & Decor= 🟦 The store has a refreshed & elegant vibe, seamlessly blending modern retail aesthetics with touches of its heritage charm. 🟦 The decor is clean, contemporary, and thoughtfully designed. ➡️Each level is well-organized, making it easy to explore. 🟦 The comfortable lighting highlights merchandise effectively, and signage throughout the store is clear and helpful. _____________________________________ 🟩 Merchandise & Offerings= 🟩 TANGS continues to deliver a well-curated selection of products across its four ( 4) levels of shopping floors. 🟩 Level 1 is dedicated to "Beauty and Cosmetics" —a vibrant, stylish space where the latest skincare and makeup lines are showcased in chic counters. 🟩 Level 2 features a mix of fashion wear and kids' apparel, making it a convenient one-stop level for families and fashionistas alike. 🟩 Level 3 now houses the 🔴 Kitchen Appliances, Bed & Bath, and Household items— ➡️ a major change from its previous B1 level spot in the basement.▪︎ It’s spacious and neatly laid out, with practical & elegant lifestyle offerings. 🟩 Level 4 is home to "Beauty & Wellness Services" and the "Click-and-Collect Customer Service zone". 🟩 This level is quieter and provides a more personalized service experience— perfect for those picking up online orders or indulging in self-care. 🟨🟨 B1 Level as of 11th June 2025 is currently being revamped and renovated. ✔️B1 used to house the Tangs smallish food court. ________________________________________ 🟪Service & Experience= 🟪 If there's one thing that’s remained consistent throughout the decades, it’s the attentive and courteous service. 🟪 Tangs staff have always been helpful, knowledgeable, and patient -----> qualities that truly elevate the shopping experience. ➡️ So whether I am browsing casually or seeking specific advice, I am always met with warm professionalism. 🤎 Final Thoughts = Tangs dept store is more than just a department store to me.🩷 It is a truly venerable part of Singapore’s retail scene, constantly evolving while keeping its heart and soul intact. 🟤 Dated 11th June 2025 Wed evening time.

Absolutely love the Christmas setup here every time if the year with its elaborate but not overly done Christmas decor, as well as Christmas carols. Lots of shopping available here all year round. The car park is easily accessible too, I could quite easily get a lot over the weekend too; slow down to look for the car park directions especially turning from the main road. Otherwise it’s easily accessible by MRT train or bus too. Long history with its first store opening back in 1932!

Completed in 1982, the flagship building wasn’t just another department store—it was a statement. Its distinctive roof and red-green color scheme, inspired by the Beijing Imperial Palace, made it an instant landmark. Over time, the plaza grew into a bustling complex that also houses the Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel, firmly anchoring TANGS as part of Orchard Road’s identity. But TANGS didn’t stop there. Expanding beyond Orchard Road, it opened a second major location at VivoCity, one of Singapore’s largest malls. As an anchor tenant, TANGS at VivoCity became a go-to shopping spot in the HarbourFront area, drawing both locals and tourists. After extensive renovations, it reopened in June 2023, refreshed and ready to welcome a new generation of shoppers. Today, walking into TANGS feels like stepping into a world where tradition meets modernity. Fashion, beauty, homeware, electronics, toys—you’ll find them all under one roof. It’s more than just shopping; it’s part of Singapore’s retail heritage, a story that began with one man’s dream and continues to evolve with the city itself. Best of all, is it's staff. We want to express our profound appreciation and to extend a heartfelt commendation for three of your exceptional staff members who provided service that was truly above and beyond. Our deepest gratitude goes to Miss Jackylou Augustin, Assistant Retail Supervisor. Her assistance was nothing short of extraordinary. Miss Augustin demonstrated an unparalleled level of patience, dedication, and meticulous care while helping us apply for a membership. She is the very definition of service excellence. We were deeply impressed by her unwavering commitment, boundless energy, and incredibly gracious attitude, as she went out of her way—even running up and down the stairs multiple times—to ensure every detail was perfect. Her actions were a testament to her remarkable professionalism, genuine kindness, and tireless work ethic. She is an absolute asset to your team. We would also like to sincerely thank Mr. Aaron Hermosora for his invaluable role. His keen perceptiveness and immediate willingness to help were the first steps in resolving our inquiry. He seamlessly connected us with the perfect person for the job, demonstrating excellent teamwork and a proactive, customer-centric approach. Finally, we must compliment Ms. Kanimoly, Customer Service Officer on Level 4, for her excellent support. She played a pivotal role in efficiently resolving our concern with great competence and effectiveness. Her ability to "make things happen" seamlessly capped off our experience wonderfully. Tangs Department Store @ Tang Plaza is easily recognized by the iconic pagoda-style Marriott hotel building above it. The department store has undergone periodic upgrades to stay modern and relevant.. There are always special promotions happening, making it a good place to shop for clothing and other necessities. During festive seasons, the mall is beautifully decorated, adding a touch of class and atmosphere that makes visiting even more enjoyable.

I love to shop here at Tangs. The building itself is unique. The department store has got a wide range of things such as apparels, house hold products and food. The staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

Had the best shopping experience with this mall. We just dropped by to check the latest collection of scent. But then, we met Dandrio and he showed us the best-selling collection of perfumes. Zainon, the Bvlgari sales assistant, assisted me very well. She exerted extra time and effort to explain all the scent in detail. We really had a great time with Dandrio and Zainon. Highly recommended!

It was wonderful to see this iconic Singapore department store holding its head up high along Orchard Road - defying the changing shopping habits that has seen other department stores in Singapore and indeed worldwide struggling to draw in customers. It was great to see today its continuing popularity with local and foreign shoppers alike - especially on level 3 thereat. It was bustling and at times, crowded. Keep it up!
