Their lunch set is honestly such a good deal. You get a main, soup, drink, and dessert for a really reasonable price. I was told their steak is a must-try, so I went for it. The steak was cooked perfectly to my request (medium rare) and the fries were pretty solid too. The only downside for me was the capsicum sauce. I could barely taste any capsicum, and it felt more like a thin brown sauce with a few bits of capsicum thrown in. It didn’t really do much to bring out the flavour of the steak. That said, I really enjoyed the ambience and the service was great. I would definitely come back to try their other dishes, especially the fish soup which looked really tempting.

Tucked within the timeless charm of Shaw Centre at 1 Scotts Road lies The Ship Restaurant & Bar — a true Singaporean culinary institution that effortlessly sails between nostalgic comfort and bold seafaring flavours. Stepping inside, you're welcomed by warm wood panels, nautical décor, and a vintage charm that feels both familiar and inviting. It’s like boarding a classic cruise liner — with the promise of hearty, well-executed fare. Our evening feast consisted of seven standout dishes, each a testament to the kitchen’s time-honoured commitment to flavour and quality. First dish was the Seafood Tomato Pasta, an indulgent plate of al dente spaghetti bathed in a rich, tangy tomato base. Generously topped with prawns, squid, and mussels, the dish struck a beautiful balance between oceanic freshness and rustic Italian warmth — comforting, bold, and beautifully layered. The Seafood Platter was the second dish, arriving like a grand showcase of marine treasures. From golden-battered fish and tender calamari rings to grilled prawns and succulent scallops, every bite was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavour. Accompanied by crisp fries and a zesty tartar sauce, this platter was both crowd-pleasing and deeply satisfying. The much-loved Ship Steak, served medium well, was a showstopper in its own right. Chargrilled to a juicy tenderness with a caramelised crust, it was paired with creamy mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and a rich mushroom sauce that elevated every mouthful — classic steakhouse fare done just right. Our table also enjoyed two Fish Noodle Dinners, and they were nothing short of comforting brilliance. The broth was clean yet full-bodied, with delicate hints of garlic and white pepper, while the crispy battered fish slices added the perfect contrast to the springy noodles. Simple, honest, and absolutely heartwarming. The final two dishes were the Pork Loin & Olio Pasta Sets. They were delivered a lovely fusion of East-meets-West. The pork loin was tender with a hint of smokiness, while the garlic-laced aglio olio was fragrantly spiced with chilli flakes and perfectly tossed in olive oil. It was a plateful of comfort with just the right kick. To top it all off, every meal at The Ship comes with thoughtful additions that make the dining experience feel extra special: warm table bread served with butter to start, your choice of tea or coffee, and a delightful dessert selection of vanilla or chocolate ice cream, or a rich chocolate mousse that satisfies any sweet craving. These classic finishing touches make the meal feel complete and timeless. Service was impeccable throughout. It was warm, prompt, and sincere. There’s something undeniably charming about a restaurant that doesn’t just serve food, but serves memories. The Ship Restaurant & Bar is a vessel of culinary tradition, hearty portions, and sincere hospitality. It is a true gem in the heart of Orchard. If you're seeking comfort food with character and a generous dose of nostalgia, set sail for The Ship. You’ll arrive hungry and leave wonderfully full —— in body, heart, and soul!

This western food restaurant that is famous for its sliced fish noodles soup piqued my interest for quite some time and I finally got to try it. The food were good and the old school vibes added a nostalgic touch.

Old school design western restaurant , food portion is large , set lunch and set dinner everyday . I ordered the chicken chop set lunch on Sunday , it comes with bread , soup , drink, ice cream or pie and the main dish. Cost only $14.90 c. Chicken chop is juicy. Waiting time is abt 15 mins on a busy Sunday 👍 Support our local founders for the cheap yet good quality food.

Had the Japanese Wagyu Buffet (I'm a big eater). The meat marbling is good with lots of variety of cuts and the option to choose what you want. Ordering is via QR code which is convenient and the food is delivered via a robot - pretty quickly. Didn't try many of the side stuff as I am just eating the beef, but the Fried Chicken is pretty good. Coming from Malaysia, this place is better than what we have back home and at a much much more affordable price (dollar to dollar). Must try for yakiniku lovers.

Feel scammed with the food here. Saw a bowl full of stew. But when it came it’s a third of the bowl. If they do this with their side dishes, you know what they’ll do with their main dishes. Costs did not go up 100% for you to cut my food by 50%. That bowl size is a small rice bowl. Obvious P&L and costing in play here. A big middle finger to the customer. I was that customer today. Don’t be like me.

We decided against the $88 buffet and went for a la cart instead, and ended exactly $88 per person 😅. But you get a lot more variety so still the preferred option. A few notes: 1. The heat is very high in the beginning and slows down after about half hour. So plan your cooking accordingly. 2. Cut open the squid to get more even grill 3. Order loin cube with garlic instead of order garlic separately 4. Lean option: shrimp, squid, loin cube, lettuce wrap
