HC Seetoh
A new Rogama (charcoal grilled) and teppanyaki place at Palais Renaissance. Positioned as an affordable Atas Japanese joint in an equally Atas mall. They did a good job. We went for the lunch set and tried both Teppanyaki and Rogama. In general the Teppanyaki turned out better. The higher priced beef are better than the lower priced ( not always the case elsewhere). The seafood and beef platter turned out to be a winner. The portions looks small but believe me you will be filled. The sides were really good especially the chawanmushi. . Order the garlic fried rice - yummy. The only odd item is the tomato soup. Kinda of out of place in a traditional Japanese place (or I thought ). The plating is beautiful. Service is excellent and I hope they maintained it. They only had 1 Teppanyaki chef and the poor bloke has to shuffle between 2 groups of 5 - not easy. Yeah I would recommend giving it a try especially for lunch.
