During my last visit to Singapore, I reserved a table for lunch with my best friend. We arrived with a mix of excitement and curiosity, as the idea of eating tongue was a bit unsettling for us. In the end, we decided not to try the Gyutan, but the dishes I ordered did not disappoint. My cod fish was beautifully cooked, and the flavorful rice paired with rich yam was truly delightful. However, my friend wasn’t as pleased with her pork—it seemed undercooked or too rare for her taste. That said, the staff were incredibly helpful, taking the time to explain each dish to us, which added to the overall dining experience.

I walked in on a weekday without a reservation as there were many empty seats. Tried their beef tongue gyu tan set (thin) and iced tea. Beautiful to the eyes and grilled to perfection. The thick white yam slime went well with the barley rice. Price wise i think it's a tad pricier than the usual Japanese lunch you might find in the same mall. They have other usual more ordinary options in the menu if one does not enjoy beef tongue. Service was quick and polite.

Walked past and happened to see some dessert promo so I bought some. Frankly without promo it’s pretty expensive. The taste for mango & strawberry panna cotta are both ok, milky creamy enough. But I don’t know why there’s a watery liquid in the top. Is it the fruits turning watery or…? Usually this doesn’t happen in other shops. The staff were friendly and helpful enough. Easy place to just takeaway some desserts while shopping through the area. Dine in will charge service charge & GST.

Always wanted to try beef tongue but didn't as the word "tongue" turned me off. Tried Gyutan-Tan for the 1st time and I am now a fan of "tongue".😂 A gentleman by the name of "Song" recommended the combo set and I was blown away by the juiciness of the meat. The thin cut was simply delicious. Thumbs up to Song for the amazing recommendation.😍 You made me a fan of beef tongue and Gyutan-Tan.🥰 The egg pudding is another item you have to eat. It's served with a side of brown sugar syrup. Without the brown sugar syrup, it's yummy already. So creamy and light. Going to make another trip for beef tongue, gyoza, and the stuffed wings. There is an adorable centrepiece in the middle of the restaurant. So cute!!!

The food is borderline good but plenty of better ones around. Service from door to table is just satisfactory Atmosphere wise doesn't feels like a Japanese eatery. Also, no free ocha!

Taste wise is good. Gyutan isn't overcooked. Tried both the thick and thin cuts + karubi. Would be nice if the meats and soup (not hot at all) came out warmer as it was already cooled by the time it was served.

The beef slices were really thin and controlled quantity. This may become a default place to fill your stomach when the other restaurants are full.

We had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant! The food was excellent, and my children absolutely loved the kids’ meal. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the cod fish—it was perfectly cooked and flavorful. Overall, we were very happy with our meal and the service. We will definitely come back again! Highly recommended for families!

Food: 3/5 We ordered the premium and combo beef tongue. The spread of the set meal was great, which comes with a choice of miso or oxtail soup, salad, rice and a small plate of tororo. My biggest disappointment would definitely be the texture of the beef tongue. Since I got the premium cut, I expected the meat to melt and tender as I chew into them. But gosh, it was so rubbery that I almost gave up finishing them. I mean, I would’ve if it wasn’t for the above-average-casual-dining price tag. Service: 3/5 Male service staff at the entrance and likely the manager, were both friendly. However, it would’ve been better for more proactive service, such as providing a glass of water. There was a female service staff who wasn’t unfriendly but instead, busy finding her momentum at work. It gave the impression that she’s likely a new starter. Atmosphere: 3/5 The illustrations on the wall, menu and chopstick cover are very cute. Especially the centrepiece in the restaurant. However, the half-done ceiling made the place feel a tad dark and messy. Not a comfortable environment for me to chat while dining. Nice to try, but I will not be back.
