Found a few items pretty worthwhile eating. The Ayam Goreng was deep fried with turmeric, crispy on the outside (skin) and juicy inside. And because it is such a popular item, the chef kept frying and there was a continuous replenishment of the chicken drumsticks. Hence still hot and juicy. The Sambal Goreng which consisted of tofu cubes (like Tau Gua deep fried, crispy on the outside, soft and tender inside), tempeh and long beans cooked in thick delicious gravy. This is really good. The Beef Rendang is good too but I would prefer it to be a tad softer; the portion was of good size, lean meat and easy to bite but would be good if it melts in the mouth. Wifey felt that slow cooking for another 15 minutes would give that effect. The Sambal Belacan was really hot and spicy as it was made from Chilli Padi. However, just plain hot wasn’t great! We felt that this Chilli fall short of Belacan. Overall, a very satisfying lunch. But due to the limited sitting capacity (and with social distancing measures), the Cafe could only seat 12 pax. So if someone orders many packets of takeaway (like we witnessed someone ordered more than 15 packets), the Cafe was empty with nobody seated inside for more than 20 minutes while the “Abang” was packing the takeaway order. As the Cafe is small, owner could easily see the empty seats, he could temporarily stop packing the takeaway order, invite and serve some sit-in customers. This will surely maximize his business and satisfying more customers at the same time.

Mansor Cafe serves authentic and very tasty nasi padang. It is one of the best I've had in Singapore. It's a small, unassuming shop in Far East Plaza. The machik cooks while the uncle, who is very friendly, serves customers. There's limited sitting capacity, and most customers take away. Service can be a little slow, so be patient. But the excellent food will more than make up for the wait. I like in particular the beef and chicken rendang and also the bergedil; but everything I've eaten there was good. Price is also reasonable. A meat and two veg would be around $7 - $8. And, bring cash as that's the only mode of payment that's accepted.

Best Nasi Padang! Damn shiok the chili! Rendang very fragrant and tender! Rice could be more fragrant. Pricey but worth it.

The rendang is life-changing! So tender and flavourful. Compliments to the chef & the owner. Sambal is absolutely perfect! Spicy, sweet, and savoury all at once. Amazing job!

I pre-ordered 7 dishes for my family and we enjoyed it very much, especially the tempeh and the spicy chicken curry! The eggplant was so soft and it just melts in your mouth. Beef rendang was tender and the gravy was spicy, which we liked. Begedil was fragrant and not too dry; it had the perfect texture. The ikan bilis provided a nice crunch on the side. The spicy chicken curry had a nice citrus taste to it, spicy yet refreshing -- our favourite of all. Actually, the tempeh is our favourite too!

Little diner tucked away the back of Far East square. Known for it’s rendang, chicken dishes and the super spicy sambal balacan. Finding the place is a challenge and getting a seat is also a challenge, as it’s a small space so sometimes the best option is to take away. I usually order the rendang or fried chicken, with sambal goreng, egg and a dollop of the ikan bilis. Along with extra sambal. The fried chicken is always fresh as it’s constantly replenished and I find it’s still moist and flavorful, while the skin is still crunchy. The rendang is tasty but leaner than I would like. The spice combination is really good, but the leanness makes it a little stringy for me. The rest are standard Singapore Padang fare. What makes it for me is the sambal. Very spicy but keeps you coming back for more. The couple that runs the place are very personable also, so always a delight, if a challenge, to go back to.

It was a Saturday morning. Despite the fact that I made it a point to be at the shop at least half and hour earlier to opening time, there was already one person queueing when I got there. When it opened at about 11:15 am, there were about eight people in the queue. I ordered to take away - beef rendang, brinjal fried egg and white rice. Cost: SGD6.00. The sambal belacan is free. The brinjal and egg was nothing out of the ordinary. What I liked was the beef rendang and the spicy sambal belacan. The beef was very well cooked in their flavourful rendang. Easy on the mouth; chewable without any tendons. Their tangy and spicy sambal belacan was hot. But not that super hot as some reviewers had me thinking.

Chance upon this small little shop selling Nasi Padang on the 4th Level of Far East Plaza shopping centre. Seat were quite limited as the space was quite small. Reached the shop around 1.30pm and the dish selections were quite limited as well. Managed to select 4 items from what is available on the showcase. I gotten the ayam goreng, sambal fishcake, cabbage and a sunny side up egg kicap manis. The meal was around SGD$8-9 which also includes a drink. Food was quite decent, the lemak chili padi gravy was really spicy. Ayam goreng tasted not bad but cold. Other dishes quite generic and can be commonly found at most nasi padang stall.

Saw the much raved reviews and decided to try out seeing not much queue. The plate of vege + chicken rendang + tofu + cabbage came up to $9 which is certainly fair and reasonable in tdy's climate. First bite into the chicken rendang and I'm sold. Really tasty and tender so well seasoned! The peanuts had slight spice to it and crunchy. The cabbage is so soft and delicious. This must be one of the best nasi padang I've had, and I've had quite a few.

An old school eatery that whips up old school flavourful nasi padang! The belachan is delicious and spicy, sambal sotong is cooked to perfection. A little pricey but worth it.
