Shaw Theatres Lido: A Mostly Positive Experience with Some Quirks (4/5 Stars) Rating: • Atmosphere: 4/5 (Clean and modern, but the theater layout has some unusual quirks) • Seating: 3.5/5 (Snug seats with limited legroom, but not unbearably uncomfortable) • Sound Quality: 5/5 (Excellent sound quality, immersing us in the film) • Service: 4/5 (Friendly and helpful staff) Overall: 4/5 Donkey and I spontaneously decided to catch a movie at Shaw Theatres Lido, hoping to see “No.2,” without checking the website beforehand. We were disappointed to find it wasn’t playing there, highlighting the need to check the website in the future for clearer communication of film availability at specific locations. However, we quickly switched to “Detective Chinatown” and found our seats in Theatre 7. Theatre 7 is smaller than average and has an unusual layout, requiring a bit of a walk to reach the upper seating area. However, the sound quality was excellent, immersing us in the film. The movie itself was enjoyable. Although the seats were a bit snug, with limited legroom and fixed armrests, they weren’t unbearably uncomfortable. The ticket and food counters were located at opposite ends of the building, which was a minor inconvenience. The staff were friendly and helpful. Despite the minor inconveniences of the theater’s layout and seating, the excellent sound quality, enjoyable movie, and friendly staff contributed to a mostly positive experience. We give Shaw Theatres Lido a 4 out of 5 stars for this visit. While we’d prefer more spacious seating in future visits, we’d still consider returning to Lido, especially if our preferred movie is playing there.

HOLYYYYYY Fire and ash in imax 3d was great. a HUGE difference. Type of movie that needs to be on a big screen. Ts can get very cold second half of the movie i was dying. Come here for authentic spiritual experiences to make life better.

Careful not to arrive too early, they removed the waiting area… instead of keeping a sitting space for theatre customers, they are replacing it by overpriced “coffee shops” that sell you the waiting space for the price of an additional movie ticket. They profit from the good location and have increased the prices again but the service of a supposed “premium” experience doesn’t follow.

Update on 7 April 2025: I am very happy that the sake bar re-opens after the long closure due to Covid-19. With the re-opening, I befriended the new lady boss who manages the bar. Ms Pearly features different sakes monthly which my friends and myself enjoy when paired with sashimi, sushi and food offerings in Isetan supermarket. Hot sakes and whiskey are available too! This bar is also a place for ‘‘like-minded’ sake lovers to share drinks and food while chilling. ——————————- 5 years ago (as at Apr 2025) Great place to chill out. You need to buy the sake that is in promotion. Of course, you can buy food from the sushi, sashimi counter to enjoy your drink.

Visited my buddy in Singapore for a day trip and she took me to this place. Nice quiet sake bar and good recommendation on the sake menu... we tried 3 of the one in the list and than got a few more on the fridge but too bad they only allowed sake on the bar. My buddy and I drink for almost 4 hours in there. Staff are helpful and friendly too. Love this place a lot. Will come back for more sake for my next visit.

Whoo hoo..after a long wait and finally they are open again. A true hidden gem for sake lovers!! On monthly basis, there will be new sake introduced, Our lovely and pretty boss pearly has good knowledge abt the sake she bought in and always happy to share her knowledge with us. Food options? You have the supermarket with fresh sashimi and yummy sushi varieties for pairing. Haha..do take note of the hourly discount too. Do take note that the bar seating is limited!

My grocery runs at Isetan Shaw House now end way faster — because I’ve got one goal: get to Kaku Uchi sake bar ASAP! From zesty Okinawa Gin (Tankan flavour is so refreshing 🤤) to curated whiskys by the glass and even tasting flights. This is the post-grocery reward I never knew I needed! Plus, you can grab fresh sashimi, sushi and yummy bites straight from the store to pair with your drinks. Solo chill, after-work recharge, or a quick treat with friends — it’s just perfect 😍👍 And while you’re at it, try the new Shinobu highballs. Absolute thirst-quenchers! Your grocery run just became your new happy hour✨.
