Portions are huge but the bak choy with beancurd skin is not only misleading, it doesn't taste good as well. Firstly, it has a very off putting taste which lead to the second point being that the main culprit are the pork slices in there! This was not mentioned in the menu at all! Service was very slow due to shortage of staff and it was very hard to get their attention. The worst mistake is actually the lack of update & info. We ordered the lamb only to be told 20 mibs later that they had ran out of stock & had to prepare a fresh batch for us. We were told it will take only 20 mins. Instead the whole stupid dish took 1 question & an hour for the dish to come out which by then it was close to closing time for the restaurant! We ate a few pieces & threw away the rest of the dish! What a waste of our precious time!

Food was really really good. First time really trying Shanghai food and it's really unique. Feels like home cooked food. Love the fried rice cake, jellyfish, and the fish soup 👍🏻 Service was not the best. Didn't feel a warm welcome and wasn't given attention at all times. Had to ask a few times to order food and wait very long for their response after a request was made. Maybe it's cuz we dined in the private room. They didn't introduce the dish also when they served.

Located at 4F of mandrian gallery on orchard road, very nice fine changhai cuisine, which we do taste like Taiwanese dishes we can have in Taiwan. Staff is very friendly and responding to our needs, corkage is 30/bottle as they do have nice glasses and decanter for each bottle Overall is a nice experience

Took my mum here for lunch. The food was nice and suitable for old people, very tasty. The price may seem on the higher end but it commensurate with the taste, the ambience and the amount of food. Even though we order one appetiser, one veg dish, one meat dish and one rice, the amount was too much for two women. We have to bring the rice home. Nice experience and we would like to come back again.

Ordered only 3 dishes… Stir-Fried Noodle with Scallion Oil (Wow-balanced in terms of Noodle texture and flavours), Vegetarian Goose (Great meatless bite!) and their Braised Pork Belly In The Claypot (Pork Belly were braised almost perfectly - Soft & Tender, but not flavourful enough.. maybe lack in time of seasoning due to many orders for this dish, sauce was savoury and tasty enough - Not too Salty). We would have ordered more dishes if not for their lukewarm reception and service. Had to wave for minutes and then finally call out loudly just to get our order taken, not to mention about service after that, even though they had amber service staffs (They had time to talk to each other and not bothered to attend to customers’ waving for their attention). They were fastest to notice us when we walked to the cashier… but no ‘Thank You’ or any words after payment. Hope they can improve their level of service so that other customers will not complain.

Food is acceptable. Something where very few restaurants served would be the 八宝饭 which needs time to prepare. Service was something I was perturbed with considering it’s was supposed to be an upscale restaurant in Orchard and I would have expected more as the bill was rather pricey. Atmosphere was ok.

We take a taxi on both ride to this restaurant, but the taste is so disappointing to us. It absolutely not Shanghainese’s taste. Too much oil, cold dishes are hot, pork belly is even without skin, the waitress said it is because the pork imports from Spain, but why cannot import from other country. All of above, the price is shocking, but the tastes and the services are absolutely not typical and professional.

Thank god for returning the original tuna bun recipe here because the new format with a useless mayonnaise dot on top does not make sense. Please return this format at all branches

Don’t buy their Sakura theme products! What usually bakers or cooks do for Sakura products, they add in Sakura leaves for the taste, some times Sakura resemble of Ume (plum, 梅) due to the ume vinegar used to pickle the flower or leave. Some may add cherry essence. I bought 2 of these today, Sakura with plum cream, it’s so disgusting I threw away the one I ate half way and the other one that wasn’t open. Here is what they do wrong: 1. There is no Sakura taste but 2 tough and dried 雞蛋糕 with pink colouring. 2. The cream is supposed to plum that I should be Ume but instead it’s Our local 酸梅粉 and it’s THE CREASY MARGERINE CREAM. 3. It’s tough and dried and left this 酸梅粉 taste in my mouth and doesn’t resemble of anything Sakura based on any Japanese sakura desserts, beside a picked Sakura flower on top. Yet they are happily shouting out Sakura to fool the consumers. Don’t buy this because it’s full of trans fat - margarine. There is a bakery hit the right spot with their Sakura products. It’s at the B1 of city hall’s raffles city mall.
