I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but this was one of the less satisfying meals I’ve had in a while. I ordered the crispy chicken bento, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. The “normal” spicy level was already overwhelmingly spicy (and I usually eat spicy food regularly). On top of that, the chicken wasn’t crispy at all — it was soggy — and the rice was quite watery. Honestly, I almost couldn’t finish it. That said, I understand that sometimes the kitchen can have an off day, so maybe it was just my bad luck this time. People who like Taiwan Food can still give it a try. I Love Taimei is much better, in my opinion.

If you’re into hearty, handmade noodles, this spot is worth checking out. They specialise in Lanzhou-style La Mian that’s freshly made, generously portioned, and super affordable. Here’s what we had: 🍜 Tomato Egg Dry La Mian Springy hand-pulled noodles tossed in a tangy-sweet tomato sauce, with fluffy scrambled eggs and juicy tomato chunks. Light, comforting, and full of nostalgic flavours — like a warm hug in a bowl. 🔥 Stir-Fried La Mian (Tomato with Egg) The same combo, taken up a notch in the wok. Rich, savoury-sweet sauce with a subtle smoky finish — bold, homestyle comfort. 🌿 Scallion Oil Noodle Simple and fragrant. Chewy noodles slicked in aromatic scallion oil, finished with crispy shallots. Clean and flavourful.

Super hearty and yummy noodles, what a rare find at FoodRepublic foodcourt! At really affordable prices, I didn't expect to find freshly handmade noodles at a foodcourt, and at orchard area. Flavour was really good, amazing umami taste with wok hei. Complimentary green bean soup was just nice for a hot day. Wasn't expecting such great value, lovely gem! Would definitely be back for more.

I was so happy to come across this stall, and the lovely lady working at this stall recommended the garlic crawfish noodles which were amazing! It's exactly what I needed and I couldn't stop eating even after I was full. She also gave me some bone broth to try which was also delicious. I'm still thinking about those noodles today!

Tried First Noodles with the kids and it did not disappoint! The bone broth is super flavorful, and the handmade noodles have such a nice bite to them. Portions are generous, and the price is pretty reasonable too. Definitely a great spot for both adults and kids to enjoy a hearty bowl of noodles!

I've been a loyal customer of Shihlin for many years, always returning for their signature crispy chicken. However, I’ve noticed a few disappointing changes over time. The price has steadily increased, while the portion size seems to have gotten smaller. I always order the crispy chicken and request only sour plum powder as seasoning. What surprised me today was being told that replacing the default chili and pepper powder with sour plum powder now costs an extra 50 cents, bringing the total to $7. It feels unreasonable to charge extra just for swapping one seasoning for another. I still like the food, but with rising prices and added charges like this, it’s getting harder to justify the value.

Not bad for a bowl of comforting beef soup noodle for less than $10. I like the mushroom side dish. Only problem is the soup not hot enough.
