A Thermomix unit was handed over to this service provider for servicing on 31 January. As of the date of this review, the unit has not been returned. Despite multiple documented follow-ups, there has been no clear explanation, no confirmed return timeline, and no accountable point of contact. The prolonged retention of a customer’s property has resulted in a significant loss of use of the appliance. This raises concerns regarding custody controls, service governance, and escalation handling when customer property is involved. Reasonable care, transparent communication, and timely resolution would be expected as baseline service standards. Management attention and resolution are urgently required. Prospective customers may wish to obtain written servicing timelines and escalation contacts prior to engagement. Followup: Thermomix Singapore confirmed that my TM5 was lost while under their custody, due to a failure by their appointed logistics partner, after it was sent in for servicing. Resolution took close to one year, despite repeated follow-ups. After internal review, Thermomix Singapore stated that: • They do not have any new or unused replacement units available; • Their only proposed resolution is a used TM6 display unit, together with a 1-year warranty and a S$200 voucher; • No alternative appliance or proper monetary compensation is being offered, despite acknowledging the loss and delay. The proposed replacement is a commercial display unit previously used for demonstrations (touched and used by many), which is materially different from a privately owned household appliance. This was presented as a “fair and proportionate” resolution. Even the S$120 service fee paid for the servicing of the lost unit had to be specifically requested to be refunded. They have YET to agree to this. This case raises serious concerns regarding custody controls, accountability, and escalation handling when customer property is lost. Customers may wish to carefully consider the risks involved when entrusting high-value appliances for servicing. Management attention and review are warranted.

Easy and user friendly booking system thru their website . Had a deluxe haircut done by Barber Hannah. Very satisfied with the haircut. Due to my Asian head shape Hannah suggest not to cut too short at the sides as the hair there tends to stick up. She also give me tips on how to style my hair so that it stays neat the whole day. Overall very happy with the experience at Sultan of Shave Palais.

My stylist, Hannah, is highly skilled, attentive, and always delivers exactly what I ask for. She takes great care in her work, and I leave every session feeling refreshed and well-groomed. The service here has always been professional, friendly, and reliable. The team makes me feel welcome on every visit, and the environment is stylish and comfortable — a true premium grooming experience. Special thanks to Hannah for her consistent excellence. I’ve been getting my haircuts at Sultan of Shave for the past 10 years, even back when they were still at Orchard Central before relocating to Palais Renaissance. The service has always been exceptional, and that’s why I keep coming back. I always go to Wei Ling—she truly understands my hair and is very honest with her style recommendations based on its condition. That level of honesty and professionalism makes a huge difference, and I always walk out feeling great about my cut. Consistently five stars from me. Highly recommended!

“I wanted to try getting a haircut in Singapore, so I just walked in! Even though I can’t speak English at all, they understood the style I wanted through a translator, which was really great. My haircut was done by a female stylist, Kris. She doesn’t speak Japanese either, but she carefully checked with me step by step about what I wanted, so I think Japanese customers can also feel safe and comfortable trusting her with their hair. I’ll definitely come again 😊”

I had the misfortune of visiting the Sultans of Shave at Palais Renaissance, and it was, without exaggeration, one of the most infuriating and incompetent experiences I’ve ever endured at a so-called “premium” barbershop. This place is a sham, marketing itself as an upscale men’s grooming haven while delivering a service that’s worse than a budget haircut at a local HDB stall. Save your money and avoid this overpriced, arrogant, and utterly deplorable establishment. Booking an appointment was the first red flag. I had to chase them relentlessly via WhatsApp, sending multiple messages just to secure a slot. Their lack of responsiveness was a harbinger of the unprofessionalism to come. Upon arrival, I was greeted by tiny, uncomfortable seats that felt like an afterthought in their pretentious setup. Worse, the staff were shockingly rude, failing to even acknowledge my presence. No greeting, no courtesy—just a cold, dismissive vibe that set the tone for the disaster ahead. The appointment itself started late, with no apology or explanation offered for the delay. I had explicitly instructed the barber, Hannah, to handle my moustache with care. After seven weeks of careful growth, I wanted a light trim to maintain its volume and explicitly told her to leave the sides untouched. What followed was nothing short of a travesty. Hannah, displaying either gross incompetence or a complete disregard for instructions, proceeded to butcher my moustache, shaving off most of it without a second thought. It’s frankly questionable whether she even understood basic English, given how blatantly she ignored my clear directions. Horrified by the carnage unfolding on my face, I had to cut the session short and leave, but not before witnessing the staff’s complete lack of remorse. They showed zero understanding of the magnitude of their screw-up, offering no apology or attempt to rectify the situation. To add insult to injury, they had the audacity to charge me full price for this facial massacre. I reached out via WhatsApp to express my frustration, only to be met with stone-cold silence—further proof of their arrogance and utter disregard for customers. Sultans of Shave is a scam, plain and simple. They hide behind a veneer of sophistication while employing inept barbers who can’t follow basic instructions and rude staff who treat customers like inconveniences. You’d get a better, more respectful experience at a neighborhood HDB barber for a fraction of the cost. This place is a rip-off, run by people who clearly don’t care about their craft or their clients. I wouldn’t recommend this shambolic excuse for a barbershop to my worst enemy, and I sincerely hope their abysmal service leads to the bankruptcy they so richly deserve. Stay far, far away.
