A very solid place to get authentic Japanese food. We went for lunch on a Wednesday and there was a queue before opening. The food was great value at a reasonable price, with the Bara Chiraishi don ($18) being full of fish, although it's all covered in some marinate sauce so the raw fish taste isn't too pronounced. Every lunch set comes with free-flow miso soup, cabbage and green tea as well. One HUGE gripe I had was that the rice used, wasn't sushi rice, but felt more like normal rice. So it lacked the sticky factor and the sushi vinegar taste. Quite disappointing on this front and I really hope they will change the choice of rice used. Otherwise, everything was outstanding. The ambience was great too. Everyone sits side by side around the counter, where you can watch the chef at work. If you've never been to a Japanese izakaya, you can experience it right here. Overall I will certainly return but I really hope the rice situation changes for the better.
