Quite a good experience with the food quality and service. Food is tasty but can be a little spicy for some who are not accustomed to the favouring. Lots of garlic used in the cooking, which adds to the delicious taste. Service is great, and minimum wait if you go during off-peak hours. Serving portions are big (even the drinks), so you might want to place your orders sparingly first, and when the dishes are served, judge for yourself before ordering more. The “icing on the cake” is the free ice-cream that you can help yourselves to, after your meals, which are both tasty and refreshing.

It was my first time dining here. I usually go to Xiang Xiang Hunan Cuisine for this type of Hunan food, and this restaurant feels very similar in terms of décor, menu and drinks. We ordered the stir-fried beef with green chilli, the vermicelli prawn pot and the dry-fried cauliflower. The highlight for me was definitely the vermicelli prawn pot – Xiang Xiang doesn’t have this dish, and the fresh prawns cooked on the spot were very tasty and full of flavour. The other two dishes were comparable to what Xiang Xiang offers, but the beef here was a bit disappointing: the slices were quite small and slightly tough, so the texture was only average. Because my friend had a coupon, we received a complimentary dessert, and I also got another dessert for signing up as a member, which was a nice touch. I would have preferred being able to choose the sugar level for the lemon tea, so in the end we opted for two cans of beer instead, as we don’t like very sweet drinks. Overall, the best part of this restaurant is the service. The staff are very polite and attentive – in this aspect, I would say they are even better than Xiang Xiang.

Tried Neng Gong Ji at Orchard Gateway and the food was really delicious—authentic flavors, generous portions, and beautifully presented. The ambience is cozy, making it a nice spot for casual dining with friends or family. The only thing to note is that the staff weren’t very attentive during our visit, so service could be improved. That said, the quality of the food definitely makes it worth visiting, and I’d still recommend it to anyone looking for tasty and authentic Hunan cuisine in Orchard.

Went to the orchard gateway outlet. This outlet is quite hard to locate as it is not linked to the rest of the shops in B1. But this also means that the location is very unique and secluded. Ordered 2 of their signature dishes and I am not disappointed. The way the prawn is cooked is very interesting. The pork is delicious and even the sweet and sour chicken is surprisingly good too. Will definitely eat again.

Hunan foods are amazing! Place is a little cramp especially if you get the middle tables. Stir Fried Beef with Tea Oil ($19.8+) Sauerkraut Fish with Soup ($27.8+) 🌟 Stir Fried Cabbage ($13.8+) Not cheap but definitely a good one for family/ friend dinner!! Free ice cream after dinner:)

Not a fan of Mala but the fried intestines and prawn noodles were yummy. Fish head has a lot of bones. Love the fried moochi but the soup moochi was yucky. The beef mala was average. Love the green chilli with century eggs.

The environment, location, and atmosphere are all very good. I felt very comfortable the moment I walked in, and the overall experience was truly unforgettable. Honestly, having a warm and cozy feeling is what dining is all about. This place really gives me the feeling of enjoying a home-cooked meal made by my mom. I’m very satisfied with my experience here and will definitely come back again. The staff are also very friendly and attentive!

Love the food will definitely come back. Attended by Han Wen he was friendly. Will recommend other friends or family members to dine here. Got Free Ice Cream some more. Their iced lemon tea quite good too.

Visited on 29 October for dinner and it was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The waitress who served us clearly lacked professionalism and basic courtesy. Despite at least 10 empty tables available, she deliberately led us to a cramped table hidden behind a partition, right next to the dirty plate collection point. All other diners were seated comfortably near the entrance, yet we were pushed to the most uninviting corner. When I looked at the empty tables, she quickly claimed they were “reserved for a big group,” but it was clear not all of them were meant for that purpose. Feeling uncomfortable, I approached two male waiters to request a table change, and they told me we could move as long as we hadn’t ordered. We relocated to another table ourselves, and to my surprise, many of those “reserved” tables remained empty even after we finished our meal. When I voiced my feedback to the manager while paying, he simply stared and stayed silent — no apology, no acknowledgment, nothing. That silence alone said everything about their service standards. Poor attitude, poor service, and zero customer care. If this is how they treat customers, especially families, they don’t deserve returning business. We will not be coming back, and I do not recommend this place.

Had a pleasant dining experience with, but the food didn’t quite meet my expectations. The restaurant is not that big or spacious. The stir-fried sliced pork with green peppers was quite oily but still flavourful. I enjoyed the steamed prawns with rice vermicelli, freshly cooked on the spot. The stir-fried romaine lettuce was average, and the sauerkraut fish was too sour and still quite spicy, even after requesting it to be mild. I think the only thing that was truly tasty is the dessert that I ordered. It’s called fried glutinous rice dumplings stuffed with sweet mochi inside and sprinkled with salty black sesame powder on top. It’s sweet and savoury at the same time. It’s an interesting combination. It’s quite similar to the dough fritters texture and taste.
