came around 11.50am 8 OCT 25. Me and my boyfriend know what we wanted to buy , but the service was BAD. we waited for the chubby Chinese lady to ask us what we want to order but instead of doing that, she was talking to the other Chinese colleague which pisses us off because that's how u give customer service meh???? we get pissed already and we decided to walk away. Only then she want to serve us. LOL. HR please check your CCTV and do something to the both of them. thanks.

Located at B1 of Paragon, OCK as I've reviewed before its a staple for any of the local small bites and tasty finger foods but what's special about this Paragon one (as compared to others like the ones located at ION or Far East) is that at this outlet they serve cooked mains! The mains include selections like $2 ala carte Bee Hoon, Curry Chicken, Dry Mee Siam and $3.50 Nasi Lemak (with pop-corn chicken and fried hard boiled egg with coconut rice). The price for the Nasi Lemak for example is unbeatable for a lunch option. Albeit the sides are a lot lesser than the other Nasi Lemak in the area eg. Lucky Plaza but you can always add on (I added the Prawn nuggets) and it still totals up to less than $6.00 which is below the average for a meal option in town area. Aunties are all warm and friendly and I think because they also know we are the poor corporate zombies within the area they are also very sweet to us. A simple 5 minutes exchange but such a warm engagement that makes the lunch start off well <3

The experience at Old Chang Kee (OCK) is consistently reliable across the island. If it’s your first time, the sheer variety of fried snacks on display can be overwhelming, especially with people queuing behind you. For a guaranteed good bite, stick to what they're famous for: the Curry-O curry puffs. Overall, it's a good place for a predictable fried snack.

Beef is so tender and the sauce will make you ask for more. Perfect paired with soup and the white Japanese rice… value for money

quiet fine japanese food with amazing service! this restaurant was definitely a pleasant surprise and the sashimi was amazing! the staff were also super attentive and friendly, helping my friend cut up noodles and everything bc she recently had teeth surgery. the vinegar rice in my salmon don was a bit clumpy, but other than that, it was a great experience!

<ö+ TasteMarked Reviews +ø> We visited this place for dinner on a Friday Night. We reserved a table for 3 at 6:15PM. We arrived around 7PM. We tried our luck, and still went strait to the restau. And lo and behold, our table is still available!!! Lucky US! But coarse we got some scolding from the auntie. 😂 The service here needs to improved. They were friendly, however they forgot too many stuffs. We ordered: Unagi Rice box - too many bones. nice and tender meat. Teriyaki chicken - the portion is big. Salmon rice bowl - fresh salmon was delish! Maki roll - Love this! Jelly fish -Love this! Shrimp tempura - Love this! Crunchy! Egg - ok Environment: 5/5 Waiting: 5/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 4/5 Service: 2/5 What I liked: - Maki roll What I disliked: - service/ quite costly

Delicious sushi with great quality for a reasonable price. Although wouldn’t necessarily recommend the uni as it was expensive but not as great. Service was decent as we had maybe a manager who took our order and was complicating our orders for nothing, but the rest of the staff was great!

🍣 A Mixed Experience with Glimpses of Potential! 🍤 The sincere, attentive service here deserves a shoutout – the staff truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome! ❤️ Visited on a bustling Friday evening – the vibe is energetic (read: quite noisy and crowded), so brace yourself for a lively atmosphere! 🎉 Food-wise, it’s… okay. The dishes we tried felt safe but lacked that “wow” factor. My shrimp sashimi was unfortunately a letdown – texture leaned dry instead of the plump, bouncy freshness I’d hoped for. 🥹 A solid spot for casual Japanese eats in Paragon, but I’d prioritize it more for convenience than culinary adventure. Maybe I’ll revisit on a quieter day to explore their menu deeper!

I visited Akashi Japanese Restaurant at Paragon Mall last week with a few friends, and we had such a great experience. The moment we walked in, the warm, cozy ambiance made us feel right at home. It’s a perfect spot for a relaxed catch-up or even a special meal. The food was the real highlight—everything was incredibly fresh and full of flavor. The sashimi platter was top-notch, and the sushi was beautifully prepared. I especially loved the cold soba with quail egg—simple yet packed with flavor. We also tried the braised pork belly, which was so tender and rich it basically melted in our mouths. Service was excellent too—attentive without being overbearing. It’s on the slightly pricier side, but the quality of both the food and experience made it totally worth it. Definitely a spot I’d return to next time I’m in Orchard.
