The Editor's Market at Takashimaya offers women's fashion at democratic prices in a modern market setting that prioritises great design and quality over brand hype. Located at B1-47/48 in Ngee Ann City, this Singapore-born boutique has become a favourite among local women seeking everyday fashion that feels contemporary without being trendy, stylish without being precious.
What makes The Editor's Market special is its philosophy as a "modern-day market for everyday fashion and lifestyle." The store curates pieces that work for real women's lives – dresses that transition from office to dinner, tops that pair with multiple bottoms, separates that create versatile wardrobes. The aesthetic leans towards timeless minimalism rather than fast-fashion prints and patterns that quickly date.
The collection includes clothing, accessories, and even homeware, reflecting the brand's holistic approach to lifestyle rather than just selling clothes. Prices are positioned in the accessible range (starting around 0 for many pieces), making quality design attainable for women who view fashion as self-expression rather than status signalling.
The store has developed a loyal following, particularly among women in their 30s who appreciate the balance of sophistication and wearability. The Singapore roots mean the designs work well for local climate and lifestyle considerations, unlike imported collections that may not translate. For women seeking fashion that feels personal rather than mass-produced, The Editor's Market offers a carefully edited selection that rewards regular browsing.

On 21/01/2025 , I visited this store and was trying on clothes in the fitting room when I experienced an appalling breach of privacy. Within one minute, the staff asked twice if there was anyone in the fitting room, and I clearly responded both times to confirm I was inside. Despite this, a staff member had the audacity to peek into the fitting room I was occupying. This behavior is absolutely unacceptable, deeply disrespectful, and shows a complete disregard for customer privacy. As a paying customer, I expect much higher standards from your store, and this incident has left me feeling humiliated and furious. I demand an explanation and immediate action to ensure this never happens again.

Brand quality has deteriorated significantly - threads coming out from stitches, knits that start to peal already in the store, non symmetrical items…staff is not very friendly.
I bought two items, they brought me new sealed ones at the checkout, but when i tried them on at home, they didn’t fit me as items i tried at the store. One item had not symmetrical collar. I wanted to return them, but apparently no returns accepted, you can only exchange. So keep that in mind.

VERY RUDE EXTREMELY BAD MANNER customer service! I came in happily wanting to try some clothes but I was holding on a grocery, I politely asked a basket to put the clothes I wanted to try and a corner to put my grocery because my hands were full (of-course I knew it would be totally my responsibility). But she was not eager to help from the beginning and then she rolled her eyes!! WOW THE AUDACITY! Isn’t her job is to help/assist the customer?? She was suppose to make a customer easy to shop but instead she just gave her employer this unnecessary BAD REVIEW. Properly Train your team please!

First time shopping and nice clothes. Took one piece to try and the trying room’s junior staff (probably the youngest) who was attending to the waiting queue was super rude. Even my friend doesn’t want to stay any longer in store with this kind of service. Dampen the mood.

Doesnt seem like the operating hours are reflected accurately. Was in store about 9.30pm but was denied the use of the fitting room and no one seem to want to assist. I am aware that the store was closing soon, so was picking up my pace and wanted to try a piece i was eyeing and get out. But all retail staff were just focused on closing ignoring any customer in store. I walked out with no purchase. Subsequently they were also closing the glass doors at 9.40pm. A little disappointing.

One of my favourite home brands. Clothes are of good quality and the pricings’ reasonable as well. And I enjoy the perks of being a member, cheap thrill when you can use your points to offset your purchases.
The staff here are very friendly and approachable, special shout out to Joanah who’s very meticulous and who would go the extra mile for the customers. She is patient and makes effort to talk to the customers to understand their needs.
The staff in the JEM outlet pales in comparison to the staff in the Taka outlet. Visited the JEM outlet a couple of times and I must say the service there’s definitely “work in progress”. I think if you choose to be in the service line, basic courtesy is a must have.

It’s always pleasant shopping at The Editor’s Market. Their clothing materials are suitable for our hot and humid weather too.

This is a place for mostly female clothing and some home stuff like cutlery etc. I like that there’s a small cafe inside it. Usually crowded during peak hour and weekends. There’s usually a queue for the cafe then.

Love this store, amazing quality linen pieces and unbeatable size range. Can always find unique to basic styles for everyone and any occasion.

Delightful afternoon at cafe inside Editor's Market - it was nice and quiet at 2pm....but be prepared for crowd to start building after 3pm even though it is a weekday ( must be the year-end holiday) Also note, cannot use Paylah to pay: cash or credit card only.
