The place is quite small, some tables only have benches without backrests as options, which is not good. The coffees we ordered were very tasty and the blueberry cake was very tasty, it was warm, crispy, soft, juicy and well filled. Overall it was a good experience.

If you are gonna run the shop like a tyrant, then maybe you should not be in the service business. The staff/mgmt probably read the previous review about not informing customers about the “no food and drink” policy, because we were told so when we walked in with a friend holding a drink, and was treated rudely when we tried to order something to sit down at the cafe - the lady was busy with her “paperwork” and did not want to take our order and made us wait for a good 3 mins. The whole time when we were there, we felt gazes from the counter but we shook it off. When we were about to leave, my friend took a sip of her outside coffee for the first time in the shop, and the lady sprung up on us telling us that “other customers are complaining why they are letting outside food and drink into the premises” and basically chased us out. I just want to management to know that 1. We bought 2 SUBPAR drinks at the exorbitant price of $7 each but because my friend took ONE sip of her outside drink, we are forced to leave? Is this how you treat paying customers? 2. You need to invest more on staff training because your staff are power tripping and leaving a bad impression on your brand. 3. You’re in F&B, not a detention center. Rules can be enforced, but not to be followed blindly. TLDR; rude staff, shit drinks, don’t bother spending your hard earned money here.

1. Tried their scone (bread or scone?). At S$4.0 a piece and serve bare, without jam or butter. Focaccia roasted chicken with mozzarella (whatever), quite tasteless. Matcha latte quite watered down. With such small tables, reminded me I am in a kindergarten setting. Will need tremendous improvement.

I would like to compliment the male staff at the cash register around 8.40pm on 19 July. Store was half closed and I am really craving for tiramisu. He promptly and cheerfully helped me with my takeaway order which really made my day. Thank you!

Tried the chocolate banana espresso cake & lemongrass tea. Chocolate Banana Espresso Cake not only SHRANK in size, but increased in price to $9.3 from $8.5/8.9 (can’t remember). Cake’s good though. But still disappointed in the small slice I was given. Lemongrass tea was OK, but initially the cup I was given had UNWASHED coffee stains on it. Asked to change to a new cleaner cup & staff complied.

Staff was not at the counter so i went to the back to check if there was anyone manning the shop. 2 ladies were working - 1 busy and the other was having a break (looked like). Gestured multiple times to the one having a break (she was nearer), only for her to make eye contact with me and ignore me continuously. Understand she was on break but it wouldnt have hurt to respond with “my colleague is busy, we’ll get to you soon” instead of pretending not to see me. Her colleague, on the other hand, was busy managing everything alone and had to apologise on her behalf.

I feel I have to share this experience. It might make a difference or it might not. We came in for a quick snack. Around 4:40pm. Young lady behind the counter. Me: Can I have a club sandwich and.... Server: (interjected) no club sandwich. Me: how about BLT? Server: no BLT, no bacon (OK, now I am getting the picture, they have run out of bacon) Me: Roast chicken and avo? Server :yes Me: And a salmon thin and 2 cappuccino pls. Server: 32.40 Me: I started emptying some coins on the counter (which I got at the airport an hour ago) Server pushed one of the coins back towards me. Server:"this one not Singapore" She was staring at me with a blank expression. It took me a few seconds to get what she was trying to tell me. Finally understood. By this time I was a bit flustered, so I just gave her a $50 note. Server: you got new one? Me: (totally lost, thinking the notes I got 4 years ago is no longer valid. I am looking at all the other notes in my hand, now what do I do?) You mean this cannot be used? Wife : Isn't this still legal tender? Server: (keeps on pointing to that note & waving her finger at it. I still didn't get it. Then she pointed to the other notes in my other hand. I gave her one and she took it without a word) Me: what wrong with this one? Server: (pointing to the corner of the offending note and the other note) Me: Finally dawned on me that the offending note had a stain at the corner. Throughout this whole exchange, she was totally expressionless that she came across totally rude. If this had occurred where I lived, I would have turned around and walked out. I would never have let anyone speak to me like that. Having got up at 5.30am and off the plane an hour ago, I wasn't thinking straight. Why can't she speak in full sentences, instead of pointing and waving her finger. How about : "sorry we have run out of bacon so this & this & this is no longer available" "I think you might have your coins mixed up because this is not a Singapore coin" "do you mind giving me another note? I can see this one is stained and the bank may not accept it and I will get into trouble with my boss" Is there a penalty in the school system for long windedness? (being facetious!) I mean, I defo look non local, carrying a backpack with a water bottle. If I was paranoid, I would swear she looked down on me because I looked like I've just come across from JB. Oh, the food. I can't remember what mine taste like because I kept thinking of our interaction. But at least my my wife enjoyed hers. By the way, I bought some Italian chocolates with the offending note. The server didn't even blinked. It was just a faint yellowish stain like spilled curry or something - no tear or holes, all pictures and text were visible. Sometimes I wonder why some people choose to work in hospitality when they are not into it. Unemployment in Spore can't be that bad.

Conveniently located at the basement food hall of the Paragon. They have a few seats available for that short coffee break you need to have if you happen to be in the area. There are several cafes and coffee shops in the mall but this is so far the most convenient. Uncomplicated no fuss way to get your coffee. The tea is good and comforting. Ordered Espresso on another visit and I liked the bold flavors and acidity. Its simple, nothing spectacular but it will get the job done. Pair it with pastries and life is good. Service is ok, staff is a bit gruff but efficient nevertheless.

Currently got tea time promotion where you ordered a slice of cake and get a free coffee/tea. Very good offer. Offer from 2pm to 5pm.
