Here’s a smoother, polished rephrase: “We visited this place for breakfast to try their famous kaya toast. We ordered the Kaya Butter Set(3.5/5) and the Egg Mayo Toastwich(4/5). The Kaya Butter Set had a bit too much butter, and you could really feel it while eating, but the coffee was on the stronger side and paired well with the soft-boiled eggs. The Egg Mayo Toastwich was good too. Overall, it’s a decent spot for a quick breakfast.”

Biggest fan of Yakun for years. Experience at this outlet was horrendous to say the least. Was queuing for breakfast on Friday morning when I noticed that the queue was not moving at all for a good 20mins and more. The staff were busy clearing online orders, and blatantly ignored the man waiting in front of the counter. The in-store queue started to get longer and longer, but still the staff ignored us. Finally, when I spoke up to remind the staff that we have been waiting for very long and that they should respond to the man instead of the incoming NEW orders, the staff took his order and payment, then continued with the online orders instead of the man in store. And when the people in the queue started to protest, one of the staff actually yelled back that "cannot wait, don't buy". How appalling is this behaviour?! I understand that F&B service is very tiring and online orders may have a certain quota and time to meet before getting penalised. But the response? Ridiculous. I hope the management can look into these two staff (20-30s), and also how their workflow is around online and in-store orders. Stop the apps if the physical queues are getting busy. Respond to physical queues before new orders come in. Kudos to the senior staff (40-60s) who tried to help the situation, appreciated.

This Ya Kun branch is new, spacious and clean. The food is well prepared; toastwich was well done crispy on the outside and still chewy inside Having eaten here a few times, the staff knows my preference and is efficient!

Pro tip: Just go for the signature menu — don’t switch it up! Nothing beats the original. Trust me. It’s seriously the best thing on the menu. Pair it with a hot or iced tea — both go perfectly with it. And that first bite? OMG, eyes wide open, I was honestly shook by how good it was. Totally worth it!

This place has a simple menu focused on tempura. Decor is minimalistic, utilitarian yet somewhat chic. Their tendon set may seem a bit pricey but the quantity and quality of ingredients kind of justifies the cost. Sea eel, whiting, crab leg and prawns were all fresh. Fairly well executed too, crispy and not too oily. Shiso leaf was so pretty with one side perfectly coated with batter and the tempura egg was so neat and tidy. It wasn’t busy when I visited though. The only downside was the batter tasted a bit heavy and became cloying toward the end.

We came by here for dinner. They have a menu board out front and you have to order at the door, but the service was friendly and the kitchen efficient. The tempura was okay — tasty and good value for money. There was a nice mix of items and the batter fried up crispy but light. You can get it as a ten-don with a choice of sweet or spicy sauce, or you can get it as a set with a choice of rice or udon and a traditional dipping sauce on the side. Both versions were good. It’s worth a try. My only caveat would be not to come too close to closing time.

Their tempura is very nice and crispy, sauce is well made. Very friendly, helpful and nice staffs they have. Place was cosy, aircon is soild. At the moment they only have 4 sets meal to choose. If they are able to have a bit more selection on their menu will be even better.

Tempura Moriawase Set which was too oily in my opinion... we ordered extra Truffles Chawanmushi which was soft and silky and perfectly steamed. Their Prawn Kakiage was too sweet as well but the portion is pretty big, as usual, the oil is pretty overwhelming. Please take note!! only the rice selection in your set comes with the miso soup - if you choose Udon or Soba, you won't get the miso soup. They are running a 50% off their 2nd tempura set now which may be the reason for the lower standards in terms of their food quality. One plus point is that you won't smell like you have been through an airfyer smelling all oily here... their ventilation system is good!!!

Went for lunch with my friend. We love your tempura and salmon mentaiko. Food was fantastic. The tempura was nicely fried and mentaiko sauce taste was fantastic. Their self ordering system was easy to use and can choose all item you want in just 1 page which we do not need to keep scrolling to other page for drinks or side dishes. Staff were very helpful, attentive and friendly. Place was cosy with nice music. Will recommend friend to go. 👍👍👍
