I went there today, and it was great - cheap, high quality and above all else!!! And most of all, I was moved by Mr. Cho's kindness. I definitely recommend visiting if you're in Singapore! It was great! (Located on the 3rd floor of Lucky Plaza)

Chosan Zakka was a place recommended to me by a few Japanese expat wives for souvenirs. They shared many good experiences purchasing at their retail outlet at Lucky Plaza. I opted for mail as I’m quite busy this period. Service seems good, but do re-think if you are opting for mail. They are responsive and had packed my order on a Monday (the date I ordered). On Saturday, I checked and was told that they have yet to mail it out and would be doing so on the very day. It was explained that they only do mailing once a week - which is a Saturday that is a non-working day for SingPost. It’s probably something they may want to re-think as even my stuff from Taobao arrives more quickly than that. For info, their services is excellent and they are responsive. They had kindly offered to refund/ pass it at my place as the owner live nearby. I declined because tbh I don’t want to inconvenience them as it’s not anyone’s fault per se (just really weird that they are mailing it once a week on a Saturday; and maybe I should have asked them on the status earlier). Too bad for me, I just don’t bring it with me to Japan as a souvenir lor 🥲

It's cheaper than other souvenir shops. Mr. Cho is friendly and brings out various other colors from the back. I went there because I wanted a perfume bottle, but they didn't have much in stock at the time, and he said they would have lots in stock in September. I recommend checking this out first, and if they don't have it, checking out Arab Street. The Peranakan goods were also cheap. They packed my items well too.

The artist in charge is really friendly and his art store is worth a visit. Much better than the typical handicraft shops around. Come here for your authentic Singapore souvenir and meet the friendly face behind the store!

It was a little hard to find, but it was on the third floor. He made it himself and even drew the pictures. It was really nice. I was able to use the cards.

I came to this store because I wanted to buy Peranakan goods. Actually, I hadn't planned on going there. I was fully intending to buy some in Katong. However, the famous stores in Katong were unfriendly and unhelpful, and the prices were high, so I lost interest and came here on a whim. Cho-san speaks Japanese. Not only were many goods about half the price of those in Katong, but he also tried his best to explain things to me, so I'm glad I went! After paying, he said, "See you again!" I hope you live a long life, Cho-san. I'll come again ^_^

Cho-san speaks Japanese, so you can shop with peace of mind. The shop has Peranakan goods, heartwarming paintings by Cho-san himself, and other miscellaneous goods. Recommended for souvenirs and personal use! There are lots of photos, so please take a look!

We visited on the last day of our trip to Singapore. The store closes at 4 PM, but we arrived around 3:30 PM, so we were feeling a bit rushed while browsing. A kind staff member kindly said, "Take your time and look around." The store itself isn't huge, but it has a lot of great items, and as Cho herself said, they were much cheaper than tourist prices. Items are about 1.5 to 2 times the price at the airport. (Cups that cost $6.90 at the airport were selling for $10 for three here.) They also sell items featuring Cho's drawings and items embroidered with his wife? They also sell items you won't find anywhere else. This shopping mall itself has a local feel, so it's a little difficult to get to, but I highly recommend stopping by if you're in Orchard.
