Some hits some misses. Mar 2025 update Blackforest cake - 4.5 stars Still one of my favourite cakes! The chocolate sponge is soft and slightly on the salty side. The rum/kirsch-soaked cherries are perfect. Unfortunately they're now topping the slices with strawberries, which isn't coherent with the rest of the cake. Durian pandan roll - 3.75 stars Pandan sponge is deliciously soft and moist. The filling has more cream and less durian than I'd like - prob a good intro to durian. Did not like the chewy desiccated coconut. ============= Disappointed by our selection today. Chocolate olive oil cake - 2.5 stars After raving about Osteria Mozza's olive oil cake, my sister recommended this one. We couldn't taste any olive oil and as far as chocolate cakes go it was very average. Light and spongy but slightly dry. We thought it could've been an hdb chain cake. And for the price, definitely not worth it. Nesuto's and Awfully Chocolate's chocolate cakes still trump this for me. Chocolate cherry cake - 2.5 stars A fan of their blackforest, I've been wondering what the difference is between the blackforest and this chocolate cherry cake, which is slightly more expensive. When I asked the staff, she told me the difference was that this was a Swiss roll, so I figured it could be more effort to make the roll then, and perhaps it kept the cake from drying out. Well, the chocolate cherry cake has a similar chocolate sponge, whipped cream and cherries, but no alcohol! I would've ordered the blackforest had I known. Good chocolate sponge and big cherries, but I'm not a fan of the whipped cream. To be fair, the lady who served us came over to check and was really friendly. Very limited seating with 3 tiny tables, but one of the staff took up a table to do her work, and didn't move even when another customer came by so one of them ended up standing... +++ Blackforest cake - 4.75 stars Best blackforest cake in Singapore, in terms of having a moist chocolate cake, fresh cherries, perfect balance of alcohol, cream and cake (and I've hunted down the best). Make sure to get it when cherries are in season so you get it with fresh cherries. I'm personally not a huge fan of whipped cream so the only thing that would make it better for me would be to swap the whipped cream for a chocolate mousse - although this wouldn't be a traditional blackforest cake. My uncles and dad take turns ordering this for their birthdays! Having said that I've only had it when we've ordered the whole cake. I've never visited the store, or ordered individual slices (these may have dried out).

First time trying. The burnt durian cheesecake was tasty and moist and I won’t mind having it again. However, the salted caramel macadamia cake was disappointing. The sponge cake was dry and the cream tasted a little odd to me. For cakes at this price, I would have expected more.

Huge variety of cake selection. The cakes do not seem to be refrigerated. I tried the summer berry cake and strawberry cream. I prefer the summer berry cake. There is a tiny corner for you to consume the cake.

Visited Chalk Farm at Paragon today (Feb 3, 2025) in the evening, and had such an appalling experience that calling it disappointing would be an understatement. There were 2 staff at the outlet. The lady handling the food items (appeared to be Chinese, sorry that I’m identifying by appearance but I didn’t note her name) was shockingly rude and displayed such unnecessary temper tantrum over a price question. I asked what’s the price for the Crinkle Cookies, as the tag said “2 for $7.20,” and I wasn’t sure if that meant two boxes or one box (each box had 2 cookies). She aggressively slammed the price display stand on to the box, upset face pointing at it and replied in angry tone! So much so that even the cashier looked up to see what’s going on. If speaking to customers is such an inconvenience, perhaps a customer-facing role isn’t the right fit. We are paying for these items, not asking for freebies, and no one should be treated with such hostility. This place gets negative star for service. The only reason I’m adding an extra star is because the cashier (red rimmed glasses) was kind enough to apologize on behalf of her colleague. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Quite simple and expensive. 1 chiffon lemon cake S$ 11 and 1 half filled cup americano S$ 6.50. Plastic packaging for the cake. No option of eco-friendly packing for dine-in.

our friend decided to get us some goodies from chalk farm! we had the chocolate olive oil cake, pistachio lemon cake, kueh salat and earl grey chiffon cake. the chocolate olive oil cake was our favourite! it was not too jelat / dense. it was also moist with a strong but not overwhelming chocolate flavour. the swirls on top were just beautiful! the pistachio lemon cake was good too! the lemon cream had a strong taste of fresh lemon. the cake was fluffy and moist too. however, the pistachio taste was not very strong as it only came from the pistachios on the outside. the kueh salat was very interesting as it had a mild yet refreshing pandan flavour, and the texture was somehow smooth too. as for the earl grey chiffon cake, it was light with a subtle early grey taste. overall, the cakes are nice but nothing too special. we would definitely come back to try some more when the prices are not so high!

Sweets galore! I pray for strength and will power before I make my way to the bakery and pray even more that I do not give in to temptation upon arrival… Each time I am there, I become a kid mesmerised by their wide array of cakes, couldn’t decide what to have. All look so sinfully good, want to sample all but not allowed under doc’s guidelines. Pricing is on the high end, don’t expect any services - just transactional. Limited and uncomfortable seatings, not to encourage one to hang around for too long. Eat up and bugger off.

The cakes were well packed in containers, ensuring they remained intact. Very presentable. In terms of taste, the Ubi was well-flavored with a good texture. However, the chocolate pecan could use a richer chocolate taste. The pecans were well-coated, providing a sweet and crunchy bite.

Saw the many enticing varieties of cakes. Bought the sugee cake & ondeh ondeh cake. Both were a little too sweet for me. Sugee cake has a nice soft texture, with a thin layer of icing. While the ondeh, tasted sweeter than I expected.

I like the cakes here. Especially the traditional ones like their Ubi Kayu and Kueh Salat. Those things are 5 star cakes in their own right. However can’t say the same for the modern ones. Nice but so so kinda nice
