Yakiniquest brings the art of Japanese yakiniku omakase to Mandarin Gallery, offering discerning diners a premium wagyu experience on the fourth floor of this Orchard Road landmark. Since establishing itself as a destination for beef lovers, this yakiniku dining concept has distinguished itself through its focus on Miyazaki wagyu and expert tableside grilling service.
What sets Yakiniquest apart from typical yakiniku restaurants is the omakase format, where skilled staff handle the grilling to perfection. Diners can choose from carefully curated lunch and dinner sets without worrying about cooking techniques or timing. The lunch menu includes the Chic omakase at 8++ featuring six different cuts of beef with starter, salad, cold noodles and dessert, while the Appetite option at 28++ expands to seven beef types including the signature yakisuki and wagyu aburi sushi.
Dinner offerings elevate the experience further with the Classic omakase at 38++ and Quest omakase at 88++, both showcasing premium Miyazaki wagyu alongside wagyu appetizers and the house special niku somen. The restaurant sources exceptional beef primarily from Miyazaki prefecture, with the exception of Australian beef tongue, ensuring consistent quality across all cuts.
The restaurant operates daily from 12pm to 3pm for lunch service, with dinner hours extending into the evening. Located at #04-08/09/10 of Mandarin Gallery on Orchard Road, Yakiniquest offers a refined dining environment where the focus remains squarely on premium beef and expert preparation. For those seeking an elevated yakiniku experience in the heart of Orchard shopping district, this establishment delivers quality without the need for grilling expertise.

If we pay $188++ for a dinner set meal - it's inching super close to omakase, as a family we were super shock that the food portion was so small. We were only 1/4 full after coming out of the restaurant.
Usually if we pay an upwards of this amount for set meal, we also expect a level of service standard. When we arrived, we were also really shocked that for 15mins, no one served us water. It was very poorly managed
But after some chat, we appreciated the hardwork from the service staff
I hope this review sends a signal to the business to really re-think their pricing and how they would like to conduct their set meal

Dinner 3 of us
First time having omakase wagyu yakiniku
Ambience nice
Service attentive and they cook for you on the table each menu
Food very nice and tasty indeed. Different kinds of wagyu from appetizer to main course. All delicious. And the meat 🥩 all fresh and have good texture.
Will come back whenever we long for wagyu menu
El
Fantastic experience, we agreed that this was probably the best beef-centered experience we’ve had in awhile. Everything was delectable, we got the Omakase Standard ($138/pax) which is decently filling if you don’t have a big appetite. We ended up topping up 2 portions of the tongue steak, which is only included in the Quest omakase. While the appetizers are good, the highlight is really the grilled cuts - I loved the tenderloin, tongue, striploin, and ribeye cap cuts :)
The staff serving us was also attentive and took time to explain the meats to us, and our water glass was never empty. Overall very nice experience, with the last cut of meat being served w a happy vday platter. We will be back!

This is really good (and definitely pricey). The meats we had were top quality, once you put it in your mouth, you’ll know. The waiters there would cook it for you so there’s no chance you would mess up the meat, and they all know how to grill it.
The service is also really good. The waiters remember your individual order so there won’t be any mix up.
Jiak Papa
Incredible wagyu quality throughout the "QUEST" dinner omakase at Yakiniquest. Highlights included the seasonal starter with uni and the outstanding Premium Grill Wagyu Beef (especially the steak cut tongue and "YAKISUKI"). Delicious closer and dessert too. A must for wagyu lovers!
SChan
We came to try their wagyu omakase and they did not disappoint, tried varying slices of beef from many choice parts. Started with a beef tartare dish that seem unassuming but so tasty and smooth, the grilled beef pieces were cooked to perfection. Favourite was sliced wagyu sirloin that was superbly seasoned and almost melts in your mouth, service was excellent too. Waitress was always thorough to explain every dish, and the sommelier gave excellent recommendations with regards to the wine. All in considering the variety, the service and atmostphere the experience was over and above some wagyu restaurents I've been to in Tokyo.
Overall it was a great experience, we left really full. That said the experience was on the pricier side so save it for special occasions!
