To call this a "pool hall" is probably on par with describing a Lamborghini as "a car". There is, of course, a technical level of truth, but it's really not doing either side of the equation justice. Tigress is probably best described as it describes itself, a billiard club, but without the membership stipulation. In other words, this is a class act pool hall when you want to spend a little more for a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Cash & credit cards accepted. It's been years since I've had the pleasure of playing on a 9' Rasson table, and therefore just as long since I've had the pleasure of a table run on a 9' Rasson. But I enjoyed both here at Tigress. Located on the third floor of Orchard Central Mall, this is a place to enjoy a refined experience. Tables are top quality, the felt is immaculate and the rails are as sharp and responsive as you'd expect from a Rasson. Add to that a full bar, a list of classic cocktails and a bartender who has some experience making them. Then add food into the equation, something I didn't personally sample on my visit but will next time. All in an airy and light, nearly ethereal atmosphere. Further adding to the mystique, there's actually an APA league here (American Pool Association). *That's* something you don't find everyday in Asia! There's plenty of information available on display if you've got a hankering to test your skills in a more structured, competitive environment. The Manhattan cocktail I ordered was on point and only missing a candied cherry garnish. And the cues are decided Asian, with a more radical tapering to the tip than I prefer in addition to being lighter than what I prefer shooting with. But the tips are fine and there's good chalk. There is also a liberal display of rules & regulations if you want to shoot here. Behave yourself. Otherwise you can't have nice things, right? The coup de grace is they sell t-shirts, and I immediately added one of their staff shirts to my collection and will browse their incoming inventory of customer shirts in the next few weeks. Yes, this is a pricier place to play. But it *is* Singapore so should that *really* be a surprise? There ought to be at least one upscale place to shoot pool in this town, and so far in my explorations, this is the top contender for that title - and second place is a *long* way off. Come here and share some love with Dmitry and the crew here. They deserve it, and you're going to enjoy it.
