Pricey, but worth every dollar for the quality! Miso black cod was grilled to perfection. Beef sukiyaki was incredibly marbled and tender. Broth was flavourful and accentuated by the grilled leeks. Appetizers were also good!

We frequent Suju Masayuki at Mandarin Gallery and always leave feeling satisfied — both in taste and in health. Their dishes, especially those featuring miso, give a sense of wholesome and balanced eating. The restaurant feels truly authentic — you often see Japanese customers dining here, which says a lot. We went early on a Sunday and managed to walk in without a reservation, getting counter seats with a nice view of the chefs at work. We ordered the Premium Lunch Course (topped up $20 for the grilled black cod) and the Toku Jyo Sushi Set. Both were nicely prepared, with the black cod standing out — rich yet clean-tasting. The grated daikon helped to balance the oily richness beautifully. The restaurant is bustling with life and has a charm that keeps drawing you back for more.

This is my favourite Japanese restaurant in Singapore. Known for their teishoku but everything here is excellent. I've been here way too many times but quality and service has been consistently good over the years. Must try their Miso Cod, Chirashi Don, Sashimi and some other cooked stuff. Even their tea is good!

Managed to secure a reservation at this lovely Japanese restaurant in Mandarin Gallery — highly recommend booking in advance! What we ordered: Gohan Set – came with a flavorful, rich miso soup that really hit the spot. Grilled Hokkaido Pork Misozuke Yaki – a must-try! Rich, savory, and packed with umami. Chicken Nanban – tender, juicy chicken paired with an addictive, creamy secret mayo sauce. Hokke Sumi Yaki – beautifully grilled fish, juicy and perfectly cooked. Great food, warm ambiance, and excellent service. Definitely a spot worth revisiting!

Visited this “fine” dining place to celebrate my sisters good psle results, was utterly disappointed with the food honestly. What was even more ridiculous was the wait time, we walked in at 12pm sharp, not crowded not busy. The first dish arrived 40 minutes after we sat down, and we were extremely hungry. The tenderloin steak was so dry and tasted like tissue, after that long wait, if this is the standard im appalled la honestly. The other dishes soso only, what u wld expect, no super good dishes that stood out. Then came the last straw, the dessert, PLS it was so freaking small eh this one cmon la, they even gave 3 forks for something not bigger than my palm…not paiseh meh. Bill was $245 for 3 of us. Never coming back, eat at your own risk. Btw i called them when we got home to share the unpleasant experience but all they told me was that, they wanted to serve all the dishes at the same time (40min is not ok and not an excuse) they said there was a waiting time indicated when ordering the tenderloin steak, i checked, there wasnt. Was hoping to receive compensation for at least the steak, but no nothing just a “we value ur feedback.” I cant do anything but feedback but im damn upset la

Never cease to hit the spot and tonight’s sashimi was just top notch. As one who doesn’t particularly enjoy tempura, I absolutely love the tempura we had tonight as well that came with a special one of a kind salty gingery refreshing seaweed tempura sauce. Really need to leave this review cause just such an awesome place to enjoy delicious, sincere and well prepared meals. Staff are always so attentive and polite too. Enjoyed our dinner. Thanks!

The food is sooo good! Miso cheese - cheese is so thick and good, the miso tops its flavouring to the next level. Grilled Hokkaido Pork Misozuke Yaki [Kogane miso] - the grill is done very well and meat is so tender. One of the best grilled pork I have tasted. Got the grill/smoked taste. The miso is great with the sesame! Tofu Katsu - so crispy is on the outside and smooth and soft on the inside. The soybean on top tastes superb. Tori Momo Kurozu Itame [Kurozu] - the chicken you can taste grill done so well like its bbq chicken and its super tender and flavourful. The rice is also done well jap style. Sticky and awesome. Very happy! For the taste the price is soo worth it!

Well done Japanese Cooking. Different types of dishes based on the seasoning such as vineger, miso, etc, etc. Good service and nice ambience. Lunch sets are good value, dinner is more costly but still good value. Portions are big so be careful of over ordering.

Came here for lunch and had their gindara, chirashi, big prawn tempura and chawanmushi – all were delicious. The quality of their seafood was evident as the chirashi was plump and flavourful, and the prawn tempura was massive. The price point is definitely on the higher end. But the price is a premium for the quieter, calmer ambience which is hard to find in a Japanese restaurant in Orchard. We were also delighted by the attentive service from our server. He was very helpful and always one step ahead of our needs.
