Tucked away in a corner of Mandarin Gallery. Glad I got to try this place out. Every dish cooked to perfection (perhaps except the Chazuke which was slightly bland). Service was good.

The rice here is really the best. I didn’t really get it reading the reviews at first, until I came here for the first time. Been back a dozen times since. Their grilled dishes and vinegar chicken (which is like a Japanese sweet and sour chicken) are amazing. Chicken was super tender and juicy. Loved the Chirashi too!

I had a wonderful dining experience at Suju Masayuki in Mandarin Gallery. The ambiance is calm and elegant, with a warm, minimalist Japanese aesthetic that instantly puts you at ease. I ordered the sashimi don, miso soup, chawanmushi, and an assorted vegetable tempura, and each dish was beautifully presented and thoughtfully prepared. The sashimi don was the highlight — incredibly fresh slices of fish, perfectly portioned over well-seasoned sushi rice. The fish melted in my mouth and tasted exceptionally clean. The miso soup was comforting, with a deep umami flavor and delicate tofu and seaweed. The chawanmushi was smooth and silky, subtly flavored with dashi, and had a satisfying hidden bite of seafood inside. The assorted vegetable tempura was light and crisp, not oily at all, with a great variety of vegetables that retained their natural sweetness and texture. Everything was served with precision and attention to detail, making the meal feel truly special. Service was prompt and courteous, and the staff made sure I was well taken care of throughout. Prices are on the higher side, but well worth it for the quality and experience. I’ll definitely be returning. Highly recommend for anyone seeking an authentic and refined Japanese meal in Orchard.

Good food, but portions are small for the price. The sashimi was very fresh, and the steak was very tender

Brought the in-laws hoping to impress but I was kinda disappointed. Highlights were the tamago yaki, sashimi and nanban chicken. They were exceptionally good. Sashimi was really thick and fresh. The chicken was juicy and flavourful. Egg is my kryptonite, so I just gobbled that up. The beef was really bland, to me. The pork was not bad, but just totally forgettable. I know people rave about the rice, but it was just Japanese rice to me. Maybe I didn’t order the right one. As for service, I think it can be greatly improved. Maybe they are understaffed. It didn’t help that the menu and ordering was done through a mobile site. The ordering site wasn’t very intuitive, as I could see another table having problems too. The meal was by no means bad. However, for an average of $110++ per person, I think there’s an expectation to be wow’ed.
