Shu Xiang at Far East Plaza brings authentic native Chinese cai fan to Orchard Road, offering over 30 varieties of traditional Chinese dishes that go beyond typical local rice stall fare. Located at #01-22, this Sichuan food specialist has garnered attention for its genuine Chinese provincial cuisine.
The menu features authentic native Chinese specialities including kou shui ji (mouth-watering chicken) and liang pi (cold skin noodles), dishes that reflect specific regional Chinese culinary traditions rather than Singaporean adaptations. Portion sizes receive consistent praise from reviewers, who note the loaded portions provide good value. The restaurant operates daily from 10am to 10pm, making it accessible for lunch, dinner, and late-evening meals.
For diners seeking authentic Chinese flavours reminiscent of mainland China rather than localised versions, Shu Xiang represents a welcome addition to Far East Plaza's food scene. The combination of extensive variety, authentic preparations, and generous portions makes it a popular spot for those craving genuine Chinese cuisine.

I came here almost once or twice a month until recent visit, I found a cockroach in my food. I saw the cooks before and I was in doubt of their hygiene standard now it is very clear to me. Avoid this place if you can, cheap eat does not mean it is clean at all.

I saw the recommendation from xiaohongshu, came here to try it out and was surprised that the food was very nice as described!
Comfortable air-conditioning environment, big table, and quiet place. The price was also affordable. 3 plates of dishes only cost us for $20. Portions given were big too.
Highly recommended!

China-style economic rice. One of the cheapest eats in the Orchard area. Food is consistently tasty and variety is good!!
Service is also usually pretty good ๐๐ผ good to try if youโre around the area!

Chinese-style cai fan located at the basement of Far East Plaza. One of the most well-priced and good bang for your buck places to eat - loved the mushrooms especially, packed with a flavour and a hint of mala!

Pretty comfortable place to have a quick lunch.
$5 combination of 1 meat 1 egg 1 vege...
Tasted well, just the spicy chicken cold and soften..
Other than that, all good!
