Hands On Klay at Orchard Gateway occupies a unique position in Singapore's retail landscape as a creative workshop space where customers can craft their own polymer clay jewelry and accessories, located at #03-05. Founded as a women-owned business, Hands On Klay has created a trendy, modern, and Instagram-worthy environment that transforms shopping from passive consumption into active creation through hands-on crafting experiences.
The workshop space features movable tables and flexible layouts that accommodate various group sizes and event types, from intimate jewellery-making sessions to large corporate team-building events, hens parties, and wedding activities. The business has built an impressive client roster including major brands like Laneige, Shiseido, Singapore Tourism Board, and National Gallery, demonstrating the broad appeal of their creative workshop concept beyond individual consumers.
Hands On Klay integrates with Singapore's cultural initiatives through partnerships like the SG Culture Pass, which allows citizens to use credits towards workshop bookings, making creative experiences more accessible to the broader public. The focus on polymer clay jewelry creation—particularly earrings and hair clips—reflects current fashion trends toward personalized, handcrafted accessories that allow individual expression.
For those seeking shopping experiences that produce lasting memories and tangible creations rather than just purchased products, Hands On Klay offers the perfect blend of creativity, instruction, and social interaction. The ability to leave with custom-made jewelry that participants created themselves creates a sense of accomplishment and connection that mass-produced retail cannot replicate.

Walked in on a Tuesday and ended up attending the watercolor polymer clay class at Hands On Klay. Such a lovely experience! The space felt calm and welcoming, and the whole session became a quiet little escape from a hectic week. I really appreciated how Syaf guided me — she was warm, patient, and incredibly clear in her instructions, which made the whole process feel achievable even though it was my first time trying this style.
I liked that she paid attention to the small details too, offering gentle tips and checking in without being intrusive. The pace of the class was just right, and I never felt rushed. It was genuinely relaxing to sit down, focus on the colors and textures, and create something beautiful with my hands.
Highly recommend this class if you’re looking for a peaceful, therapeutic afternoon and a supportive instructor. I left feeling lighter, inspired, and proud of what I made.

I completed a heritage batik SGculture pass workshop. The instructor, Zhi Han was extremely patient. Nonetheless, I hope she will have the opportunity to learn to build her boundaries one day and say no in a professional manner to the more demanding participants in the future. The process was tiring for me as I had a long day at work. The complimentary hot tea helped a lot. There are cold drinks available too. The pace was right and we were well-guided.

Joey hosted us for the Clay Accessories workshop, she is very welcoming & taught us through the process well. My Sister in law and I used our $100 SG cultural pass and it was worth it. Joey is very experienced, she assisted when we were trying to mould the clay into shapes. Step by step she guided us through and we made our first batik earrings. Will definitely recommend Hands On Clay to everyone, there is creativity in every one of us. Look at what I made.

Came for the SG Culture Pass Batik Clay Accesories Making workshop. This workshop was very therapeutic and it felt so satisfying to see our end product after all our hard work! The venue was comfortable and beautiful. Our facilitator, Joey, was clear, patient and encouraging. We were provided with a wide selection of clay and accesories to choose from to craft our earrings. They also have tons of other workshops as well and I would love to come back!
