Been years since i eat 49 seats. Used to eat their pasta. This time I ordered fish and chips. Dont really like it. Quality of food seems to have dropped. The salted egg popcorn chicken looks dry. Not enough sauce cant taste any salted egg. Only taste the spicy chilli.

AWFUL. The calamari is possibly the worst I’ve ever had - I think frozen supermarket calamari would genuinely taste better. Completely unseasoned and came in this hideous and unappetising shade of orange. Couldn’t even finish it even if I tried. Squid tastes chalky, not bouncy and fresh. Came with this mayo based sauce that did not even help to cover the awful flavour of the squid. Pan fried fish was mid. Seasoned only on the outside, never reaching into the fish. Fries were given in such small quantities as well. Mid mushroom soup, tastes like it was straight from the can. Tom yum pasta was NOT al dente, there was no snap to the noodle. Mushy texture to the spaghetti. Sauce is so so - too much lemongrass, the thickness came from cream and not a thick soupy base. The only thing I enjoyed was the CANNED Schweppes Ginger Soda, which they mark up for $4.9. Service workers here are overworked severely and can’t really keep up the demand, which I have no idea why keeps coming. I don’t blame them at all - I’m 100% sure something is fishy about all these reviews - a couple next to us left with 70% of the food untouched (last picture). DON’T COME HERE.

Walk in on a weekend afternoon at around 2pm and waiting time is less than one minute to be seated. Order the Tom Yum Seafood Pasta at $20.90+ and Chicken Chop at $21.90+. Top up $4.90+ for a soup and a soft drink. The chicken chop come with two sides and the portion is quite big. Service staff are very attentive and courteous. Overall experience is good as there is no service charge and nice and cool ambience.

I tried tom yum pasta for the first time in Singapore, and I was really impressed. The flavor was rich and aromatic, with the perfect balance of spicy, sour, and creamy — just like the original tom yum from Thailand. The pasta soaked up the sauce so well that every bite was full of flavor. It was so delicious that I could easily finish the whole plate. If you love Thai food, this dish is definitely worth trying! 🍝🔥🇹🇭

The restaurant is in centre point and thus convenient location. The signature tomyam sauce is very flavourful, gues very well with the fish set. Great fusion of tomyam with western dish

The cafe is very hidden in the mall, so you might need awhile to find it. We ordered the tom yam seafood pasta and alscampi fish and chips. The pasta was very salty, but the flavour was okay. Fish was crispy, fresh and paired very well with the sauce. The seafood pasta came first, but it took 15 min for the fish to come, making the pasta cold by the time both dishes were here. We tried our luck and requested for the pasta to be heated up again, but they said no. They do not charge service charge, so to them it was probably unreasonable. It could have been better if both dishes came out at the same time (cook the fish first, then the pasta). They seemed understaffed as well, as it not only took them a long time in between dishes, but also forgot the serving plates that we asked for, so we understand the frenzy. Overall, appreciate the fish and chips but will not go out of our way to come back again just for it.

It's a great place for a gathering, ample space and the atmosphere is cool. Food served is delish. Fish and chips is good. Tom yum pasta is okay . The truffle duck pasta is nicer. Just that the price is a little pricey .

What we had: Lunch Set (11.30am to 5pm) - Starter, main dish and drinks - $17.90 1. Tom Yum Seafood Pasta Visual: 4.5/5 Taste: 4.5/5 Creamy, spicy, and tangy — the taste and quality have been consistent for years. This is my go-to dish every time I’m here. I’ve tried tom yum pasta from other places, but this one’s my favorite. The amount of seafood is impressive too — I’m not even a big seafood fan, but I always manage to clean my plate. Chef’s kiss. Nothing bad to say about it :) 2. Cheesy Chicken Chop Visual: 4.5/5 Taste: 3.5/5 Generous portions — the plate was bigger than we expected! Lots of crispy fries and coleslaw to go around. Unfortunately, the chicken sauce tasted more like pizza sauce, giving it a pizza-on-chicken vibe. It lacked depth and the “wow” factor was mostly from the portion size. We probably wouldn’t order this dish again. 3. Cheese fries (ala carte $9.90) Visual: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Looked awesome and tasty! Best to share with more than two people — we couldn’t finish it all and appreciated that the restaurant was happy to provide takeaway boxes. It’s a bit pricey, but when shared among a group, the cost is manageable. Plenty of sauce, both cheese and mayo — loved it! TIP: Visit during their lunch hours for the set meal — it’s definitely worth the price then!

This is my honest review of 49 SEATS based on my very first experience. The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was packed with flavor. Portion sizes were generous, and the prices felt reasonable for the quality and service we received. What stood out even more was their truly lovely service. The staff went out of their way to make sure everything was convenient and comfortable for the customers. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a satisfying and pleasant dining experience!
