Welcia at Takashimaya Shopping Centre brings Japan's number one drugstore concept to Singapore's Orchard Road. As a joint venture between Welcia (Japan's leading drugstore chain) and BHG, this health and beauty retailer specialises in Japanese and Korean products, many of which are exclusive to Welcia-BHG in Singapore and unavailable elsewhere in the market.
What makes Welcia distinctive is its curation of products that are bestsellers in Japan—authentic Asian beauty formulations that have proven effectiveness and quality. The store carries extensive ranges of skincare, cosmetics, haircare, health supplements, personal care items, and daily necessities. Popular categories include KOSÉ skincare masks, Japanese sunscreens renowned for their lightweight formulations, and Korean beauty products that have gained international followings.
The Takashimaya location operates as a flagship store, regularly hosting themed roadshows like "Japan Skincare Roadshow" that showcase new product launches and educate customers about Japanese beauty rituals. These events often feature exclusive promotions and product demonstrations, creating engaging shopping experiences beyond simple retail transactions.
Welcia's membership program, "Welcia Friend," offers additional benefits and rewards for regular customers. The store positioning between mass-market pharmacies and luxury beauty counters makes it ideal for consumers seeking quality Asian beauty products without luxury markups. For Singapore consumers interested in J-Beauty and K-Beauty trends, Welcia provides legitimate, authorised products with expiry dates appropriate for the Singapore climate, addressing concerns about parallel import authenticity.

I had a very disappointing experience at this store. Yesterday, I bought an eyeliner after seeing a sign that clearly stated shades 01 and 03 were 20% off. I double checked and picked shade 03 but after paying, I realized no discount was applied. When I went back to the counter, the male staff simply told me the promotion had already expired.
If the promotion is over, the store should immediately remove the sign instead of misleading customers. This is very unprofessional and creates a bad shopping experience. I bought several items, and only after leaving the store did I realize I had been overcharged.
Shoppers, be careful always double check the price before paying. I will think twice before coming back to this store.

When checkout, we were served by the store manager. She is so rude. She throw the product on the table after she scan
The whole time, she was looking at her phone when passing the receipt. This will be the last time we visit.

A disgusting experience - I was told that this brush was a broom to sweep dirt and dust…I just used it to try some new products. Wondering how many customers got confused and used it as well?
This brush was put together with other testers on a display table. It absolutely looks like a proper makeup tool.

Very bad experience with a young long hair cashier. She is insensitive to customer’s time even with a long line of people waiting and took her time to slowly to do every step. She asked if I was member and proceeded to scan each item. She asked for my mobile number and then said she couldn’t find my membership records and kept asking me to repeat the number for her to check. After several tries, she asked me to scan the QR code to sign in. But I have never needed to use the app before and didn’t have a password. Then she proceeded to ask me for my email. The system fails to recognise the email and she then asked for my name. Finally, she found my membership record and very slowly explained that my phone number in my records is missing a number. I responded to tell her to hurry and correct the number in the system because there’s a long line of customers behind. She asked for my number again but when I said it, she’s not paying attention. After about 10 times repeating my number, I kinda flared up and asked for a piece of paper. She still doesn’t want to give me a paper and I said the number again.
At the end, I had to raise my voice and insisted for a piece of paper to write my number down for her because I’ve been repeating the same number for more than 10 times while the queue behind is getting longer. She said “it’s ok” many times when I hurried her which really irritates me because it’s very poor time and customer management. And then while I thought it’s done, she told me to take out every item from my bag to scan again! After everything is done, and after I said I can lodge a complaint to the manager, she still say it’s ok. She did not apologise and the whole time, she used one hand to cover the staff ID she’s wearing.
Welcia, please train your staff. They need to be more nimble in handling situations. If the phone number in a member’s record s wrong, quickly rectify it and do the next steps and be concerned of the customers in line behind. It’s not ok to make customers wait for your inefficiency. And please learn to apologise.

After I was done selecting the items to buy, I went to the cashier counter. However, there was no one there so, I waited for a few minutes. After which, no staff came so, I went to look at other items before coming back to the counter again. Then, I saw the manager and a staff talking to each other without realising that there are still customers who need to check out.
After 5-10 minutes, I went back to the cashier counter. There was still no one there, but I spotted a Malay staff replenishing stocks at the counter. So, I said to her ‘There’s no one at the counter?’ She looked dismissive and uninterested, and proceeded to scan my items.
There is no greeting. No effort to ask whether or not I am a member. Never bother to check whether or not I spend $38 worth of items to get the free LuLuLun Mask.
I made sure that I bought $38 worth of selected items, but I did not get any free gift. I only chose the items based on where they pasted the wobblers cause Japanese products can be quite
confusing.
This is my first time shopping at Welcia-BHG and given this kind of service, I would rather not patronise this store again. I even feedback this to the management, but till now, weeks later, there is still no reply. Their member site is not that user-friendly and unable to provide whatsoever feedback.

Has always come here to get the Ishokudogen mask — super comfortable with a soft fabric that feels great on the skin. The rounded corners don’t irritate & the fluffy, flat ear loops don’t hurt even after long wear. It’s a very popular item & often sold out.
Dropped by yesterday (21 April 2025) but the store is currently closed for renovations.

( Japanese pharmacy store) Ngee Ann City mall 🟩#B2-39, Singapore 238872
💜 Ms Nur Fateha, a young, cheerful and polite lady, attended to us. She is an awesome staff member:)
🩶 When I asked about the Japanese toothpaste specifics, Ms Fateha was able to explain in detail to me the toothpaste characteristics and aroma and etc.
➡️ This shows clearly she has passion for the job, and her deep intricate knowledge of many of the products on hand tells me she had taken time to study the store's products ( 🟨 just like what I had used to do in my father's bookstore).
🟩 I have been going to this Japanese pharmacy at Ngee Ann City B2 level = because I prefer the service here, compared to the lacklustre sales staff in Guardian and Watsons. 🟧 For me as a customer, good service is SUPER important to me.

Dropped by this afternoon to pick up some great buys from Perfect 10 promo. Was warmly greeted by Ms. Hai Rong (Nature’s Nutrition) who professionally helped me to pick some of the good buys she’s promoting. Thanks to her, am looking forward to try her recipes for wellness. The staffs were equally helpful too when making payments. Great shopping experience.

Very good range of Japanese medicines supplements and cosmetic and bathing products. Bigger store than the one near Ion Orchard. Great selection of heat packs for sprain and strains.
