I ordered the sesame warabi-mochi drink and was appalled by the mysterious hard ball-shaped things inside. They felt like edible gravel. Can someone tell me what those are supposed to be?

I experienced an upsetting incident during my visit, but I want to commend the management for handling my concerns professionally and with care. While there were some hiccups along the way, I shared my feedback in the hope of helping the team understand my experience, and I truly appreciate how they listened and responded. Thank you for providing assurance and working toward a great customer experience — it made a real difference. I first discovered my love for warabimochi through the lunch set I had at Butanage Restaurant — the taste was incredibly enticing, and the texture was perfectly chewy. Since then, I've been on the lookout for good warabimochi in Singapore, but it's surprisingly hard to find places that sell it on its own. I tried one from Suntec, but it didn’t quite hit the mark. I also ordered online from Shopee — it was decent, but not really worth the price, and the waiting time was long. Then I came across the warabimochi from the Ngee Ann outlet — and it was a game changer. The taste was amazing and noticeably fresh. Each piece was carefully crafted to a perfect size and shape. The best way to enjoy it is straight from the fridge — the mochi stays chewy, and the cool center gives it a jelly-like texture that’s incredibly satisfying. Highly recommended! I also ordered the drinks, and it was an interesting discovery to see how mochi can be paired inside the drink itself. It’s definitely something adventurous drink lovers should try! The matcha powder and matcha drinks were both authentic in flavor, and the addition of brown sugar mochi created a nice balance of bitter and sweet. Personally, I would have preferred it to be a little less sweet, but overall it was a unique and enjoyable experience.

Subject: Feedback on Rude Service Experience at Takashimaya Outlet Dear Management, I’ve been a loyal fan of Warabimochi Kamakura — visiting the Waterway Point outlet twice weekly and introducing many friends to your brand. However, at your Takashimaya outlet around 4pm on 10 Oct, I was shocked by the rude and condescending attitude of one of the three staff in the store (not the cashier or the one preparing food/drinks). The staff serving the packed food/drinks was impatient and dismissive, misunderstanding my questions when I simply asked for clarification on the difference between the small and medium Warabimochi drinks. It took me several clarifications before she could understand my query, and I remained patient throughout the conversation. Instead of answering politely, she responded curtly and even shared my question with her cashier colleague to laugh about it. This behaviour completely contradicts the Japanese hospitality and respect your brand represents. Having lived in Japan for years, I’ve always admired the culture of service excellence — something I’ve long associated with Warabimochi Kamakura. In a competitive market, great food alone isn’t enough; service defines loyalty. I sincerely hope management will take this seriously. Thank you!

Aug’25- tried the matcha and preferred the original. Queued for around 10 mins and ordered the hojicha soy milk & mochi original. Both were very good but a little expensive for the drink. Waiting time was expected to be 40 mins for 30 numbers (309) but I went around 25 mins and it has reached (320) Good for the occasional splurge

Fell in love with the Warabimochi at Kamakura! Ordered the original flavor—the mochi has such a wonderful texture, soft and generously sized. The peanut powder is fragrant and finely textured. Overall, absolutely delicious 🤤 …

Best hojicha latte (I got without mochi and 0% sugar) in the world. Had this brand in Japan first, forgot the name, so glad to have found it in SG. Kinako (original) warabimochi is also great, but make sure you get the 2-piece cup if it’s just for one person!

The strawberry warabimochi drink was priced at $9, which I found to be quite steep. After trying it, I understood the hype surrounding this store. The strawberry warabimochi itself is incredibly smooth and glides down your throat effortlessly, unlike the typical jellies found in other drinks. This unique texture is truly remarkable. While the price remains a consideration, I can now understand why this drink is so popular. I will definitely indulge in it again as a special treat.

Very bad service. Made to wait at the counter without responding to me and my daughter, made us stand there like a fool. Ask for the membership QR code and she just swipe the phone without looking what she did and assume the screen is at the membership QR and walked off with us staring in shocked. DONT EXPECT SMILE from staff. I wanted to buy more but the stuck up attitude puts me off. Just buy a box of warabimochi to satisfy my child. No more spending extra on bad attitudes like I owe them.

Matcha latte with mochi was nicely balanced and not too sweet. However, the matcha mochi itself can be a bit bitter and not as smooth as the original flavour. This is a takeaway store with no sitting area.
