A friend recommended this place to me so I came with my sister to celebrate her birthday, but the experience was far from what I expected. It was really crowded and busy, but considering that it was weekend, it was understandable. We waited for 30 minutes before my sister was served her food, but apparently mine was forgotten even though we ordered the same thing. Taste wise, the unagi was too salty to my liking, while the soup was so-so - a typical taste that wasn't anything special (Nothing that would 'wow' you). I wasn't sure what that tofu-looking dish with wasabi was, but I couldn't finish it after taking a spoon. It tasted... weird to me. The only thing I enjoyed was the radish. Overall experience was average. It was a nice experience, but it's not a place that I would come back again.

I rarely review Foods in Singapore because I feel all of them taste okay only, but their Unagi Signature is really delicious ! No earthy taste, grilled perfectly, crispy one side with juicy meat ! Totally perfect I even prefer their unagi compared to the one I tried in Japan 😅 Recommended to try ! If you are a big fans of salty and savoury taste, use their sauce, but their unahi itself already taste savoury with hint of sweet and great smokey taste ! Definitely gonna be back ! Negative side only I think their table quite small compared to their portion :/ Ambience is perfect ! Service also no doubt 👌🏻

Walked in on a Sunday noon and this eatery was left with seats near to charcoal eel grilling area. We took the seats seeing its full but after 15mins, the customers behind us left and we requested to switch to behind so it’s not so hot, staff were accommodating and willingly joined the table for us to move over. We ordered unagi signature L and M size and also their sashimi bento + uni. All of them just tasted so good so on point and so fresh! My mum who didn’t quite like unagi also gave thumbs up this time. Kids meals came with tempura + sushi roll + jelly + apple juice ( it has 2 tempura prawns!) at sgd10. Really very reasonable! For last order as they will be closed to rest before dinner session, we added on one more unagi signature L because the unagi was just too good! Staff were so attentive and refilled our tea without us asking. Definitely will return! Recommended!

The food here is insanely good and fresh for Japanese cuisine. Unagi was fresh, crispy and sweet, the sauce is so good and yummy 🤤. The broth was also rich and aromatic. The sashimi rice box, for a Unagi restaurant, was insanely good. Fresh fish that each have their own flavour and the rice was spot on. Probably one of the best sushi rice out there. Highly recommend coming here for some authentic Japanese food 🤤

For a unagi meal it’s probably one of the best in town. Pricing is very good too. Affordable but still higher than usual. Not an every day meal but affordable. Taste is authentic slight crunch to it as in crispy. Some parts of the you taste is very good however, with that it maybe the rice can improve a little touch. Too hot soup very weak no punch very simple. Nothing to shout about. Been to other Japanese restaurant the soup taste way much better than here. So other then that it’s is really a good place to head to for a nice bbq grilled unagi

Had the Hitsumabushi, it was really nice and good portion. A little pricey but its worth the price. The male service staff serving us was kinda rude and seemed to be unhappy to be serving us. Not sure why he seemed so angsty? On the other hand, the female service staff was really nice and sort of saved the vibes. TLDR food nice but service is kinda meh and ruin the vibes esp if you have been to Japan where the service is 10/10.

Food is high quality, especially unagi. The name deserved the experience and cooking quality! Ordering is straightforward. Seating layout and ambience is good. However, my seat is right beside the serving rack, with baby chair just right besides me and a bit annoyed. 😂 Also spotted some stains from the tea kettle. Keep up the good work, will return! 🤗

I found this place that specialise in grilled unagi eels and I was convinced with the impressive reviews so I decided to visit. I came on a weekday dinner hour and while there was a healthy crowd of diners, there was no need for queuing. I ordered the signature hitsumabushi and the staff member convinced me to get the large portion as the medium one can be rather small. I also got the deep fried oysters as recommended by the same staff. It took a little while for my food to be served but it was not extremely long of a wait. The hitsumabushi meal came with a long bento box with rice and a large piece of grilled unagi eel which almost eclipsed the rice underneath. There were pickled radish and miso soup on the sides as well as a dashi broth to add another dimension of flavor. The grilled unagi eel was lightly crisp on the exterior with a soft and collagen-ish meat inside. The seasoning and marination hit the sweet spot and the smokiness added a perfect grilled flavor. If you like a heavier taste, you can pour some of their soy sauce which helps to add a ample dose of saltiness and sweetness. Unlike some unagi which comes with tiny little bones, this one here does not. The quality and taste of the grilled unagi here was no doubt a very good one. The same cannot be said for the others including the deep fried oysters as they turned out to be average in my opinion. However the commendable service of the staff here deserved mentioning. I like the attentiveness given and the friendliness shown as I was served during my meal.
