Tried the miso tonkatsu set. I’m going to be honest the miso sauce is not for me, not that the food is not nice though. The katsu is great but it’s just the sauce that is not the taste for me but others could like it. Aside from that everything from service to food is actually really good

Fortunately this time we came earlier… so we can enjoy directly the best Hokkaido special Shirakaba Rosu Katsu… excellent taste… meat so tender soft easy to chew… as a side we ordered wagyu Menchi-katsu. Today special is must try-Crispy Calamari…really good for sharing. So fresh come with a bottle of Sapporo beer… definitely will pay another visit.

The place was popular and slightly crowded, which was a good sign. It has been a while since I dined here, but based on my experience today, I would comment that their quality of food is still great. We did not manage to get the black pork tonkatsu since they ran out of it pretty quickly, so we had to get the default one, along with some fish and oysters set to try out. Even the default pork tonkatsu was delicious, and in fact better than the fish set, as the fish tempura was a little salty and had less flavor in it. The oysters tempura was decent and better than the fish tempura in my opinion. Still, the pork tonkatsu was the best. The staff were helpful and possessed a delightful attitude, even though the restaurant was full of diners. Not to mention they offer rice and green salad refills as complimentary!

Really excellent and consistent food standards throughout the years. The tonkatsu here is perfectly crispy on the outside and incredibly tender on the inside. You can tell it’s made with high-quality pork and fried with care. The breadcrumb coating has that beautiful golden crunch that doesn’t feel greasy at all. Each set meal comes beautifully presented with fluffy Japanese rice, refreshing cabbage salad, miso soup, and their signature tonkatsu sauce — which is rich, tangy, and addictive. I also love that they offer free refills for rice and cabbage, just like in Japan! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with warm wooden interiors that make it feel like a casual Tokyo eatery. The staff are attentive, polite, and quick to refill tea or check on you without being intrusive. If you’re craving authentic Japanese tonkatsu or just want a hearty, satisfying meal, Ma Maison Tonkatsu is definitely worth a visit. Every bite feels like comfort and quality rolled into one. Must-try: Rosu Katsu (pork loin), Cheese-filled Katsu, and their house-made tonkatsu sauce!

We passed by this place during our previous visits and did not have a chance to stop by to try. The menu was quite pricey compared to the tonkatsu and gyukatsu in Jakarta. If you ordered one set menu each then you can get a refill on rice, soup and salad. If I could say this, if you wanted to try good food with good value of money, Jakarta is the place where you can dine in a nice restaurant with a more reasonable price. Singapore is too expensive now.

I live in Singapore and decided to visit this restaurant since many people around me had recommended it. The fried oysters were a must-try — highly recommended! And as always, when it comes to Japanese-style tonkatsu, hire katsu is the best! I tried dipping it in salt for the first time, and it was delicious. We ordered one classic hire katsu and another miso hire katsu as a new challenge. Since I usually prefer lighter flavors, it was a bit salty for me, but it tasted perfect when eaten together with the cabbage salad. Definitely planning to visit again!

• Unbeatable Tonkatsu Quality Patrons consistently praise the crispy, juicy pork cutlets—particularly the Rosu Katsu and cheese-filled variants. The batter is light and crunchy, while the meat remains tender and flavorful. • Free-Flow Sides A standout feature is the unlimited servings of cabbage, miso (or tonjiru) soup, and your choice of white or multi-grain rice—making it a great value, especially for the hearty eater. • Excellent Service & Ambience The restaurant offers a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Staff are attentive and proactive—one reviewer noted being guided toward a cheese katsu option after the server noticed it in the signage. Busy Times & Queues Expect long waits during peak hours—ladyironchef warned of waits up to 45 minutes if you arrive after 7 pm. • Occasional Service Issues While most experiences are positive, one reviewer noted concerns over the queue prioritization, citing instances where others were seated ahead despite arriving later. If you’re craving authentic, high-quality tonkatsu in an inviting setting with generous sides and friendly service, Tonkatsu by Ma Maison at Mandarin Gallery is a top choice in Singapore. Just be prepared for crowds—arrive early or go during off-peak hours for a smoother experience.

The pork tonkatsu from Hokkaido was the best compared to the pork tonkatsu from Canada. It comes with an onset egg. Good enough to want to return. December 2025

Had a great meal here! The Kurobuta Hire tonkatsu set was crispy on the outside, juicy and tender inside – cooked perfectly. The portion was generous and it came with rice, miso soup, dessert, barley tea, and fresh cabbage that balanced the richness of the pork really well. Service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere felt welcoming. Booze was cheap too - 2 beers or highballs for $14. Definitely one of the better tonkatsu spots I’ve tried – worth coming back for!
