Had a lovely meal at the restaurant. Japanese chef and professional waitress serving you. The food was delicious and they also have an extensive alcohol list. I had great sake and wine from them too!

Standard Omakase menu, some nice bites but otherwise not memorable. I would have happily given 4 stars but dining alone means you observe more and I saw issues that I haven’t seen at this price point earlier.
Chef was serving sashimi to the 2 ladies on my left. Some fish was cut and left on the counter top for good 10 minutes, next to the white cloth the chef uses to wash his hands and the counter top. After a while, chef picks them up and puts them aside. Why not cut when you mean to serve, not before. And use proper plating at all times
Any torching of fish was done by taking the raw fish to an inside room and then brought back. Highly unusual. Sushi chefs use torch flame in front of guests and it adds to the theatre of it as well. Missed opportunity.
Sometimes the chef would touch his cloth, then the fish, then pick up rice which might even touch the cloth. (Having said that, he was washing his hands many times).
This lack of finesse was surprising. Again, I have not seen this at this price point. Restaurant wasn’t super busy so even that can’t be an excuse.

Elite place. What a treat. Have come twice now, this time to celebrate 2 birthdays. Hospitality is impeccable as before. Needless to say, the food was exquisite. Will bring my family back one day.

Unfortunately, the sushi was not fresh and the overall taste was below expectations.
The chef appeared unwilling to interact, so I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to those who enjoy some conversation during an omakase or counter experience.
There are many sushi restaurants in Singapore that offer much better quality and warmth at the same price point.
It ended up being a rather dark and disappointing dinner experience.

I’ve been to this omakase restaurant maybe around five or six times now, and it never fails to impress. Each visit feels like a completely new experience because the menu is always different, showcasing fresh seasonal ingredients and the chef’s creativity. The quality of the dishes is consistently outstanding, and the presentation makes every course feel special.
What I really love is how the chef curates each meal with such attention to detail, making every bite memorable. The atmosphere is intimate and welcoming, which makes the whole dining experience even more enjoyable.
Truly one of the best omakase spots I’ve ever tried—highly recommended if you’re looking for an unforgettable dining journey that keeps you coming back! 🥰❤️

Established Omakase restaurant in the heart of Orchard Road. Master Ishibashi gives a quiet but warm reception through his edomae course of fresh, seasonal seafood. We had the lunch Shiwasu (师走）course @$330+++ per person. Braised hotate and grilled Nodoguro (sea perch) hand-rolls, Sawara (Spanish mackerel) sashimi, grilled Kinmeidai were just some highlights. Loved the torotaku handroll for the crunchy textures. Have a conversation with Master Ishibashi as well and revel in his deep knowledge of the ingredients.

Had a wonderful experience here at Sushi Ayumu. The first moment I walked in, I felt very welcome, and the service was excellent. The chef had great skills, the head chef and the rest of the staff worked great together as a team. The food was great and everything was fresh. I left very statisfied and would definitely come back if I ever visit Singapore again.

I am always skeptical with gourmet sushi places in Singapore. Today, i am very please to know this high end place that meet my expectation. Material are prima and also the execution is perfectly done! Chef knows how to manuvering with its best materials. All is in balance. Including sake choices meet my preference. Not pretentious with dificulties in making reservation. Happy and recomended.

It was my third time experience with this great service and fantastic seasonal ingredients from Japan. Definitely recommended for any celebrating occasions and business dinner as well. Also private room is available and must try if you have a kid who needs to be runnng around every after 20 mins in the course of the menu😂. Thanks much Joanna for great service and chef for the excellent creation! p.s. appreciated for the special something for my wife' birthday
