The food is excellent. We loved everything we ordered, including the kueh kueh (no picture). First, the chicken satay was an unexpected highlight. It's large, tender, and packed with flavour even without the satay sauce. The sauce itself elevates the taste even further.
The nasi lemak ayam berempah was well seasoned, a solid nasi lemak. As for the mee siam, it leaned more toward a tomato-based flavour. It wasn’t spicy like the typical Malaysian version. Personally, I liked it because I don’t eat spicy food, but if you're craving that signature heat, this version may disappoint.
We also had the teh tarik, which was smooth and "atas" taste, well balanced and not overly sweet.
Now, the service is bad. Really bad. The staff clearly seemed undertrained. One waiter spilled the teh tarik (as shown in the photo) and walked off without a word. The way they served the food, sliding the plates onto the table, felt careless and unprofessional, like something that should have been corrected long ago.
That said, I would like to commend the uncle in the black shirt, clearly a seasoned professional. Also, the lady who appeared to be the "owner" was impressive. She managed seating efficiently and moved swiftly throughout the restaurant. It makes everything moving efficiently.

1st time here. Service is excellent and food portions are just nice. Although abit salty and spicy (As I am not good with spice) but would definitely come here again. The left over food was packed up for as well. Thank u for the service!

I always enjoy coming here at this outlet at Tangs! The service is welcoming and fast, the staff is polite and kind, all pastries are delicious and coffee is strong and bold. The atmosphere is relaxing and ambience is stylish! Highly recommended to try out if you have never been here before 😊

June 2025: food was good but I echo the reviews that the portion size is small for the price paid. Hope that they can adjust portion size and if so, I will visit more often. For the current portion size, the meal is v pricey and only good for special occasions rather than regular restaurant.

Came for coffee and desserts during tea time - appreciated the flexibility to order from regular menu instead of the high-tea set.
Atmosphere:
Within the shopping mall, nicely spaced out + pleasant aesthetics. Not too gaudy or overwhelming. Good acoustics - able to hear your table clearly even though everyone's talking around you.
Service:
We got lucky with Midi!! An absolute gem of a gentleman and has the aura of a super experienced hotelier! He checked in on us, and even managed conversations in between his efficient table turnovers + food orders etc. Our coffees came late, so he offered us some lovely kuehs first. Easy vibes + attentive.

We loved being a regular at the previous Katong outlet, and definitely looking forward to returning here.
