Pepper Lunch Express brings the popular Japanese DIY teppan dining concept to Plaza Singapura's Kopitiam food court, operating daily from 10am to 10pm at level 6. Located at 68 Orchard Road, the outlet provides convenient access for shoppers near Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station seeking quick, satisfying meals.
The Express format distinguishes itself from standard Pepper Lunch restaurants by serving pre-cooked dishes rather than requiring customers to cook on hot iron plates. This streamlined approach maintains the brand's signature sizzling presentation while enabling faster service suitable for food court environments. The concept has proven successful across Singapore's food courts, delivering affordable quality without compromising the theatrical appeal of hot teppan plates.
Menu highlights include the iconic Beef Pepper Rice, featuring tender beef strips on fragrant rice with Pepper Lunch's distinctive sweet-savoury sauce and signature corn. The Beef N' Steaks options cater to heartier appetites, while the Cheese Curry Rice appeals to those seeking fusion comfort food. Each dish arrives on a heated plate, allowing the ingredients to continue cooking and creating the satisfying sizzle that has become Pepper Lunch's trademark.
The Kopitiam setting at Plaza Singapura positions Pepper Lunch Express strategically within a diverse food court lineup, offering Japanese-style teppan dishes alongside local and international options. The combination of reasonable pricing, consistent quality, and efficient service has made this Express outlet a reliable lunch destination for office workers and shoppers navigating the Orchard Road retail corridor.

I paid $9.90 and was really disappointed. It only came with one paper-thin slice of salmon and three small pieces of chicken. The taste wasn’t good either. Definitely not worth the price.

Went for lunch on 18 Oct; after placing order went back to table & realised that there was no beeper given so went back to the stall and saw ppl who came later having their meals served. Enquired abt my order and was told by the cook that he sidelined my order as I was not there waiting for it. His tone was unfriendly and I highlighted that I was not told to wait there for the food. He was not apologetic but instead behaved in an unfriendly manner. Also was give 3 miserable pcs of French beans for topping up of this item. Overall find the staff unfriendly and high handed. Will not patronise again.

The male Chinese counter staff on Sat is unnecessarily rude and shouts at anyone who pours sauce directly on their food instead of using the plastic saucers. There was no signage to indicate we should do this though? Why are we being shouted at? I can see this has been feedbacked by others 1 year ago but clearly nothing has been done so I guess the management doesn't seem to take past feedback seriously

Hot plate was cold, no sizzle at all. The “Caution Hot” warning sign is a joke. ‘Generous’ portion of beef. Asked the staff, he said, because the plate was “hot”, the beef shrinks. Geniius reply. Like most food establishments, started well, cut corners and end up closing down.

Pepper Lunch is one of my go-to places when I’m craving steak on a budget. It’s a casual dining spot where you can enjoy sizzling hot plates without the fuss of a formal steakhouse. I usually order their steak bits, which I highly recommend. For the price, they’re surprisingly tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. It’s also fun watching your food sizzle and cook right in front of you on the hot plate.
The service is fast and efficient, making it great for a quick meal. It’s located conveniently in Plaza Singapura, so it’s accessible whether you’re shopping or just passing through.

Tried their Seasonal Promotion : Kogane Kare Yakiudon. Served hot and fragrant. Enjoyed the irresistible combination of Japanese curry, stir-fried udon, a rich blanket of melted cheese, paired well with both beef/chicken options.

Tried Singapore’s FIRST-ever Sizzling Cheese Skirt at Pepper Lunch Express and I am sold!
Spicy Cheese Beef or Chicken Pepper Rice is affordably priced at only $9.90 . Hearty sizzling hotplate with cheese melted to perfection and crisped just right, and spiced with a fangy kick of kimchi which promise a whole new experience!
Eat It Like a Pro:
1. Mix that juicy meat with rice and toppings.
2. Let the cheese skirt crisp up — don’t rush it!
3. Mix everything up for an umami explosion.
We added Kimchi for that extra kick — just $2. Comfort meal!
