Nasi Lemak Berlauk Melaka brings the distinctive flavors of Melaka-style Malay cuisine to Lucky Plaza's sixth-floor Kimly Food Court, operating as part of the Makan Melaka brand that has expanded to nine strategic locations across Singapore. This specialized food court stall focuses on traditional preparation methods that set Melaka cuisine apart from other regional Malaysian styles, particularly in their approach to the beloved national dish of nasi lemak. Using premium-grade Basmati rice that's cooked in fragrant coconut milk with pandan leaves, the foundation is notably more aromatic than typical nasi lemak preparations, though the accompanying sambal tends toward the sweeter side of the flavor spectrum. The menu extends beyond basic nasi lemak to include substantial protein options such as Ayam Goreng Berempah (spice-fried chicken, $5), chicken curry known as ayam masak merah ($6), rich beef rendang with its complex spice profile ($6), and the particularly notable assam pedas stingray ($8) that showcases the tangy, spicy tamarind-based sauce characteristic of Melaka cooking. For those seeking maximum value and variety, the Combo Meletup ($18) provides a comprehensive sampling of the stall's capabilities. Additional offerings include Mee Rebus Melaka (S$4) with its distinctive sweet potato-based gravy, Soto Melaka (S$4.50) featuring the region's take on spiced soup, and Mee Soto Melaka (S$4.50) that combines thin egg noodles with aromatic broth. The Makan Melaka brand has built its reputation on consistency across multiple outlets, from Changi Village to Jurong West, bringing Melaka's culinary heritage to convenient neighborhood locations while maintaining the traditional techniques that define this regional cuisine.
Excellent! The beef, chicken and stingray are tender and flavorful, the rice and chili sauce are delicious too. Portions are good and staff are friendly despite busy serving a long queue. Also impressed by their fried banana ball and tauhu begedil. Will definitely be back for more!

Good food, reasonable price. $5/- for chicken (ayam goreng) and $6/- for Rendang beef. Rice is using basmati Cook with coconut milk. Their sambal chilli is the soul of the dish. Love it!

Authentic Nasi Lemak & Innovative Chendol in the Heart of Orchard
Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Fast and efficient – the team behind the counter runs like a well-oiled machine. Despite the crowd, orders are taken and served quickly, with friendly smiles and clear signage that makes it easy to choose what you want.
Food and Dessert Quality: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Nasi Lemak Combo Meletop is a flavour bomb – generous portions of tender rendang beef, ayam berempah, sambal sotong and a crispy egg, all on fragrant rice. Every component tasted fresh, well-prepared, and authentically spiced. I did a mix and paired my beef rendang with the chicken masak merah. The curry puffs at $1 each are golden, crispy, and packed with potato or sardine – a simple, nostalgic treat.
The Cendol Melaka is the hidden gem here. Classic flavours with a twist – choose from red bean, corn, durian, or even rainbow jelly. The gula melaka syrup is rich and smoky, and the cendol noodles are fresh and chewy. A refreshing end to the meal. I went for the original taste.
Verdict:
A must-try when in Lucky Plaza. Affordable, satisfying, and packed with the nostalgic taste of Malaysian comfort food – this is hawker-style excellence right on Orchard Road.

It is simply the best! A rare find in the heart of Orchard Road.
Order Nasi Lemak with #2 Ayam Goreng Berempah $5 and #4 Rendang Beef $6 and added on otah otah.
Basmatic rice is fragrant and the sambal chilli is unforgettable which is like those only found from Malaysian stalls but the spicy level is also low at the same time. It also comes with the fried berempah bits and I felt the fried chicken is less salty than the usual ones which is good for health.
This food court was crowded when I wanted to go during Friday lunch. When I went next during Satuday lunch, it was much less crowded. So it is recommended to come try the nasi lemak stall if you are in the area on Saturdays. They also sell good durian chendols at $3.50 a bowl.
