MODU Samgyetang has made culinary history as Singapores first restaurant dedicated entirely to the Korean comfort food classic, samgyetang. Since opening at Mandarin Gallery on Orchard Road in January 2025, this specialty restaurant from the team behind Drim Korean Steak House has attracted devoted fans willing to queue up to ninety minutes for a taste of their premium ginseng chicken soup.
The restaurant elevates traditional samgyetang with six distinct varieties, each offering unique health benefits and flavour profiles. The lineup includes Collagen Herbal Samgyetang, Beauty Samgyetang, Hangover Samgyetang, Black Chicken Samgyetang, Black Sesame Samgyetang, and Perilla Seed Samgyetang, with prices ranging from thirty-five to thirty-eight dollars per bowl. Each creation features a whole young chicken stuffed with glutinous rice, jujube, garlic, ginseng, and chives, simmered until the broth turns silky and slightly milky.
The Black Sesame and Perilla Seed variations represent lesser-seen preparations that distinguish MODU from traditional Korean establishments. The attention to authentic preparation methods results in deeply nourishing broths rich in collagen, appealing to health-conscious diners seeking both flavour and wellness benefits.
Located conveniently near Orchard MRT at 333A Orchard Road, MODU operates daily from eleven in the morning until ten at night. The restaurant enforces a no-reservation policy, operating strictly on a first-come, first-served basis, so arriving early helps avoid extended wait times. Private rooms accommodate groups seeking a more intimate dining experience.
The overwhelming response since opening demonstrates strong appetite for specialized Korean dining concepts in Singapore, with MODU successfully carving out a unique niche in the competitive Orchard Road restaurant scene.

2 of us shared the Collagen Ginseng Soup and since the sides are free top, we managed to eat till pretty full still.
The soup is very homely taste and very comforting. Enjoyed it! The fried pan cake goes really well with the dipping sauce. So I’ll recommend that as well.
Overall a good meal! Remember to scan the QR to secure your queue, then go shopping while waiting for them to call you.

The Minari pancake 9/10, super love it too. Perfect w the sauce 🤤
Dried deep fried fish 5/10,. Alittle sweet, not to my liking.

Food and service and atmosphere made the wait completely worthwhile. It felt like an authentic Korean experience — the chicken was incredibly tender, the rice perfectly sticky and chewy. The side dishes were spot on.
I also appreciated the quality serviettes and towels, which made the dining experience even more comfortable. Service was prompt, and everything was just so pleasant.
Splendid. Highly recommended.

We waited about an hour to get a table, but the food was worth it.
The Perilla Seed Samgyetang was my favourite — rich, comforting, and very flavourful. The Collagen Herbal and Hangover soups were also tasty in their own ways. Chicken was tender, the broth wasn’t too salty, and overall the meal felt very hearty.
Service was polite and the place has a cosy atmosphere. Would come back again, especially on a rainy day.

Came at 10.45am on a Saturday morning to get a queue number and only managed to get seated an hour later.
Food came fast and piping hot. Ingredients were fresh and the portion were generous. The dried pollock appetiser was good and felt like a traditional snack that i ate before. We could not finish the Minari pancake even though it was only 3 pieces as it was quite oily. The glutinous rice was so good with the perilla seeds and the black chicken ginseng soup.
Service was also friendly and prompt. Will be back again to try other flavours of the ginseng soup.
