MODU Samgyetang Specialty Korean Restaurant at Orchard brings the renowned Korean ginseng chicken soup to Singapore, specializing in this nutritious and comforting dish traditionally consumed during hot summer months to fight heat with heat according to Korean wellness philosophy. Samgyetang features a young whole chicken stuffed with glutinous rice, jujube dates, garlic, and ginseng, then simmered until the meat becomes incredibly tender and the broth develops deep, nourishing flavors. The result is a milky white soup rich in collagen, believed to provide numerous health benefits including immune system support, improved circulation, and overall vitality. The restaurant's focus on this specialty dish ensures authentic preparation using quality ingredients and proper techniques passed down through Korean culinary tradition. Diners receive individual servings with the whole chicken in fragrant broth, typically accompanied by kimchi, radish kimchi, and other banchan side dishes that complete the Korean dining experience. The medicinal aspects of ginseng combined with the comforting nature of chicken soup make samgyetang particularly popular among health-conscious diners and those recovering from illness or seeking preventive wellness nutrition. Beyond the signature dish, the menu often includes other Korean comfort foods and hot pot options that share the warming, nourishing qualities appreciated in Korean cuisine. The restaurant provides an accessible introduction to Korean wellness food culture for those unfamiliar with samgyetang while serving as a reliable destination for Korean expatriates and locals craving this specific dish's unique combination of taste and traditional health benefits.

2 of us shared the Collagen Ginseng Soup and since the sides are free top, we managed to eat till pretty full still.
The soup is very homely taste and very comforting. Enjoyed it! The fried pan cake goes really well with the dipping sauce. So I’ll recommend that as well.
Overall a good meal! Remember to scan the QR to secure your queue, then go shopping while waiting for them to call you.

Food and service and atmosphere made the wait completely worthwhile. It felt like an authentic Korean experience — the chicken was incredibly tender, the rice perfectly sticky and chewy. The side dishes were spot on.
I also appreciated the quality serviettes and towels, which made the dining experience even more comfortable. Service was prompt, and everything was just so pleasant.
Splendid. Highly recommended.

We waited about an hour to get a table, but the food was worth it.
The Perilla Seed Samgyetang was my favourite — rich, comforting, and very flavourful. The Collagen Herbal and Hangover soups were also tasty in their own ways. Chicken was tender, the broth wasn’t too salty, and overall the meal felt very hearty.
Service was polite and the place has a cosy atmosphere. Would come back again, especially on a rainy day.

Came at 10.45am on a Saturday morning to get a queue number and only managed to get seated an hour later.
Food came fast and piping hot. Ingredients were fresh and the portion were generous. The dried pollock appetiser was good and felt like a traditional snack that i ate before. We could not finish the Minari pancake even though it was only 3 pieces as it was quite oily. The glutinous rice was so good with the perilla seeds and the black chicken ginseng soup.
Service was also friendly and prompt. Will be back again to try other flavours of the ginseng soup.
