M73 Food Court at Orchard Towers Basement 1 brings affordable hawker-style dining to Singapore's prime Orchard Road district, offering budget-friendly meals that appeal to office workers, shoppers, and tourists seeking value-for-money options in an area known for upscale restaurants. Located at 400 Orchard Road Basement, this food court provides welcome relief from Orchard Road's typically expensive dining scene.
The food court houses multiple stalls serving diverse local cuisine including the popular Chai Chee Bak Chor Mee (minced meat noodles) that has garnered mentions in food guides and local reviews. Prices typically range from SGD 6-10 per meal, representing exceptional value in a district where casual restaurant meals often cost significantly more. The basement location creates a relaxed atmosphere away from street-level bustle, while still being easily accessible via Orchard Towers' lifts and escalators.
For office workers in Orchard Towers and surrounding buildings, M73 Food Court provides convenient lunch options without requiring travel to hawker centres in residential areas. The food court's popularity during lunch hours results in energetic atmospheres and quick service – stall owners understand the time constraints of working professionals and prioritise efficient preparation.
Tourists and visitors also appreciate discovering authentic local food at local prices rather than tourist markups. The food court offers cultural experiences alongside economical meals – exposure to Singapore's hawker culture in a setting that feels more authentic than food courts in shopping malls targeting international visitors. For those exploring Orchard Road on budgets, M73 Food Court represents one of the few genuinely affordable dining options in the area.
If you work around and eat there get ready to be smelling food the entire day bcs sometimes inside is so much smoke of food, my clothes all smells like food. There is not enough air circulation what makes it a problem.

Beware. Scam. Ate the zichar stall. Bad service. Rice was cold. Meat was alittle undercooked. Prices was not in the menu. Feedback from others stall were that the stall do not have returning customers and loads of complaints.

The ban Mian is terrible. Worst I’ve ever eaten and I’m not picky about food in the first place. Hard and too thick. Soup was alright though. Avocado milk shake also so so only. Also tried the roasted chicken rice. Gave me parts with so much bones. Will not come back again. I was kind of annoyed at how little pride some of these stallholders have for the food they prepare and sell to customers.

just stay away!
We happened to bump into this place on our first night in SG and being CNY we couldn't find anything else open.
The lady who took our order overcharged (at least 3x), declined card payment and insisted for getting cash only.
Food was really poor... but the worse part was the big huge rat we noticed running around.
Of course we eneded up leaving all the food there and running away.
Would have called the police... it was really disturbing

i am writing this to the stall owner of the vendor "Seafood and taiwan porridge" i have went there a few times although i did not buy their food and just took a look, there is so many pictures and detailed description of the foods and every single time i go there i don't understand why the owner has to repeatedly shout out the food to me when i am deciding on what i want to buy. Even if nobody buys the food from your stall, you do not need to be so annoying.

We only ate at the Muslim stall which was excellent. This is a hidden gem given its location - the rest of orchard area is full of overpriced inferior venues. This one gives you a flavour of the food you can get in all the surburban food centres.

Nice place to have a meal as it is not too crowded and the air-conditioning and ambience are great.
Had the bak chor mee for lunch today. The noodles were done just right and had some chewiness in it. They could have added more vinegar. Overall a very satisfying lunch.

I just found this place because the Drunken Poet beside it wasn't open yet. Wow, what a jewel of a place. Very cheap prices for good food. The plate of food below, a glass of honey lemon tea, and a coffee wasn't even $7 SGD. You can't beat that, and the quality is Singapore great. Thank you 😊. …

Great food stalls in this food court (basement of Orchard Tower), right across of Hilton Singapore hotel. One of them closes at 2:30am, it's for very late-night dining.
