I had lunch with my friends and ordered the lunch meat set, which included Steak & Potatoes, a dessert, I then add on an iced lemon tea.
I usually prefer my steak medium rare, but the menu didn’t offer an option to choose the degree of doneness. To my surprise, the steak was cooked to a perfect medium to medium rare. However, it might be helpful for the staff to inform those who aren't used to medium rare steak. The steak wasn’t thick-cut but was excellently prepared, and the price was quite satisfactory. The salad was good, although I found the bacon a bit too fatty for my taste. I had high expectations for the dessert jelly based on reviews, but it was a bit disappointing—it tasted bland and watery.
The add-on iced lemon tea was quite good, and the staff mentioned it was homemade. Unfortunately, I prefer unsweetened lemon tea and had noted this in the order, but the staff said it couldn’t be made without sugar because it was homemade, which was a bit disappointing.
Note that the restaurant opens at 12 PM and closes at 2:30 PM, reopening for dinner at 6 PM, so the lunch time felt a bit rushed for a gathering with friends.

Excellent restaurant and excellent food choice by my colleague who brought me there. How do I explain this; the portions are in between Tapas potion and a regularly sized one. This means that you are able to order a bigger variety. There were 8 of us today and we tried the majority of the menu 😃.
Honestly i am not able to tell you which i liked best because i liked everything we had. However if i had to pick one item; the bread. The restaurant was a good sized place, great for catching up. Service was great as they were very attentive and our orders were served very quickly.

We had a terrific dinner at Koal. The bread roll had bits of bacon and spring onions which made it so good and fragrant. Meats were grilled to perfection - we had the iberico pork and the grass fed ribeye steak. Seasoning were on point and really didn’t need any sauce. We also tried the bone marrow which was my favourite of all. Scallion salad was a nice side dish to have with all the meats and fat.
We ordered the hojicha and whiskey tiramisu for dessert, which I felt was pretty dry and couldn’t really taste any liquor.
I would go back again and perhaps try another dessert and hopefully it won’t disappoint!

All of the dishes that we had was pretty good. The prices for each dish were not bad too. I would have skipped the bubble tea though. Would be a perfect experience if they had a nicer music playlist, but overall would definitely recommend our friends to try the food here.

Oh yum! Our first meal here was a good one. I was initially wondering why there was no option to state the meat doneness upon ordering (via a web app) but the steak arrived cooked to perfection. Nice Malliard reaction, juicy on the inside and not chewy at all.
We had the steak and potatoes ($38) which consists of angus ribeye (200gm), triple-fried potatoes (this was sadly unavailable) or fries and sweet onion jus.
The main dish also came with yuzu caesar salad, which came with lil pieces of bacon. The other choice is chilled tomato soup for $4 more but we didn’t go for that.
Dessert was either Miso Pannacotta with
Passionfruit or Umeshu Jelly, so we opted for one each. They were both delightful. The miso pannacotta was savoury sweet with nice crunchy bits and the Umeshu jelly was refreshing. I like how effort was made for the side and dessert, rather than other restaurants we have been to that just serve simple options which don’t contribute towards a full experience.
P.S. There is an ongoing promotion till 31 May 2024 where the second main course is 50% off.
