JIANGHU Buffet at Orchard Gateway offers one of Orchard Road's most affordable hotpot and grill dining experiences, combining steamboat and BBQ in a wallet-friendly package. This casual buffet spot has gained popularity for delivering impressive value without sacrificing variety or quality.
The concept is straightforward: for a fixed price (currently around 7-30++ for adults depending on day and time), diners get access to a self-service spread of ingredients for both hotpot and grill. Cook your selection of meats, seafood, vegetables, and more in the bubbling broth at your table or on the BBQ grill. The free-flow condiments, cold dishes, desserts, and fruits round out the meal comprehensively.
What makes JIANGHU particularly attractive is the accessibility of the pricing point. Most buffet hotpot experiences in Singapore command significantly higher prices, making this Orchard Gateway outlet a refreshing option for students, families, and anyone watching their budget without wanting to compromise on the full hotpot experience. The vegetable spicy oil soup and other signature broth options add authentic flavour to the cooking.
The restaurant operates on different pricing tiers for lunch versus dinner and weekdays versus weekends, with the most economical slots during weekday lunches. Located right in the heart of Orchard Gateway, it's become a go-to spot for groups who want that interactive, social dining experience that hotpot inevitably provides—without the hefty price tag that typically accompanies it.
I only gave one star because I can't give zero however when I was dining the meat that were seasoned was really salty don't ever get the garlic pork belly if you don't want to have high sodium intake and high blood pressure. the 90 mins seat was separated and you had to individually order 2 soup bases unless you can squeeze into the seat with your friend. and to top it off, they tried to persuade us with free ice cream and 100% win claw machine with a free voucher. never come here unless you bring a bunch of money because the price is ridiculous you might aswell go to HDL as the food there is way more worth it and is cheaper. 0/10 never coming back again.

The restaurant is quite clean, and the atmosphere is pleasant but unremarkable.
To my surprise, the food was rather bland. We ordered pork bone soup and fish, but nothing really enhanced the dining experience. Almost everything lacked flavor, regardless of the cooking method.
In the end, our bill came to $129 for three people, and I believe there are better hotpot or BBQ options available for that price.

A number of places now offer individual hotpot and BBQ. This place is interesting as it also offers cooked dishes at extra charge, as well as a conveyor belt system for several items.
The menu also has a very wide range of additional items for order, that is sent to the ordering table via a "train" track above the conveyor belt. Please note that the "train" can carry at most three dishes, so if you order more, a convoy of trains will be coming your way. There are a few starters plus fruits plus drinks and the condiments station as well.
So much food, so much variety! Few such places offer mutton, this place does, done I think two ways. It offers oysters, again done two ways. The garlic oysters with vermicelli in its own little aluminium foil tray was a standout for me.
For sweet endings, there are desserts like mango sago from the menu! Plus! Ice cream popsicles too.

Went for lunch with my colleagues. I really like the individual hotpot and BBQ hotplate. Everyone can choose their own hotpot soup. You can order the hotpot/bbq ingredients using the QR code and they will be delivered via the conveyor belt (just like sushiro and genki sushi). There are ingredients in the rotating conveyor belt as well (again, just like sushi conveyor belt).
Decent number of choices but don't expect premium ingredients unless you are willing to pay extra for them.
You can mix your own sauce and there are self serve drinks and ice cream.
Taste-wise, nothing much to shout about (kinda expected at this price point).
Service is good. They help to clear the empty plates on regular basis and change the BBQ paper.
Cons:
1.The restaurant is kinda warm. Seems like the mall aircon did not quite reach this part of the mall.
2. You will walk out smelling like the BBQ food.
Overall its an affordable hotpot and BBQ buffet. Lower your expectations and you will not be disappointed.

Jan 2025, buffets here are good and reasonable price for the amount there provided. The food is fresh and tasty. The service is excellent and fast. There are conveyor belts so they serve you very fast. If your stomach is empty you can come and try them. For the drinks charge an extra $1.80, they ice cream included and there is also beer on the menu.

Had lunch at JiangHu with my family. We love that they serve individual hotpots — it’s convenient and enjoyable for everyone. We were served by Yaw Ba, who was friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout our meal. Thank you for the pleasant and comfortable dining experience!
