Isle Eating House at Orchard Towers offers a refreshing alternative to the typically expensive dining options along Orchard Road, serving up affordable local Singaporean fare from 7am to 8pm daily. Located at the basement level of 400 Orchard Road, this no-frills eatery has built a loyal following among office workers and residents seeking wallet-friendly meals in the heart of the shopping district.
The establishment operates as a traditional zi char and mixed rice stall, with an extensive selection that covers all the local favourites. Their economy rice section remains the star attraction, where diners can customise their plates with a choice of dishes at remarkably reasonable prices. A plate with two meat options and one vegetable, including an egg, costs just $3.50, whilst four dishes without rice can be had for $4.
Beyond the cai png offerings, Isle Eating House serves a range of cooked noodle dishes including bak chor mee, mee rebus, mee siam and prawn noodle soup. Their lor mee at $3.50 and prawn mee soup at $3.80 represent exceptional value for the Orchard area. The roast meat with rice options and chicken rice available during lunch hours provide additional variety for regular patrons.
What sets this establishment apart is its commitment to maintaining affordable pricing despite its prime Orchard Road location. For budget-conscious diners and those seeking authentic local hawker-style food without travelling far from the main shopping belt, Isle Eating House delivers satisfying meals at prices rarely seen in this upscale district.

Relatively cheap Rice + dishes options however the Myanmar staff always seems to overcharge me. My colleagues with 2 meat and veg pays $5.20 as more regular patrons but my 1 meat 2veg cost $5.50 today!

My dad and sister always rave about this place. So, on my recent trip to Singapore, I decided to pay them a visit with my father. I donโt eat meat, so I was limited to just a few selections. However, what I did order ended up being really tasty. My fatherโs selection was also great, according to him. You cannot complain for the price. For 2 meals, 2 drinks and one piece of fruit, we paid $13. A great budget option in Orchard for those who are looking for cheap but yummy eats!

When I travel and especially in Singapore, I try to find really tasty food at bargain prices or for what Singapore is known for. But with inflation and completion food prices are going up fast. I was surprised then when I came across Isle Eating House and paid $4 for large plate of mixed items which all were super tasty. Can recommend!

We stumbled upon this restaurant because we were in a hurry and it was the closest one to Orchard Hotel. Seeing a long line, we decided to give it a try. With no prior knowledge of the menu, we simply chose a few random dishesโand we were pleasantly surprised by how good everything turned out to be. Each dish we tried was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. This was the most affordable dining experience we've had in Singapore, especially considering the quality of the food. The restaurant was also impeccably clean, from the dishware to the tables. Unlike many places where you have to return your own trays, this restaurant has staff to take care of that for you. Even their juice drinks were refreshing and delicious.

Excellent lunch place with proper food, variety of choice included healthy vegetable choices, eggs, fish, meat, everything taste freshly cooked and delicious, staff is nice, fresh fruit like melon and watermelon cut ready to eat. Everything super affordable. Much nicer than those expensive fancy looking other places I ate from. The crowd is made of the local workers.
