Highly recommend Ibu Sarah Kitchen for an authentic Indonesian culinary experience. The ambiance was inviting, and the food exceeded expectations. Highlights included the superb nasi bakar and exceptional tahu telor, with perfectly fried tofu complemented by a rich peanut sauce. The ayam penyet stood out with its well-marinated, crispy exterior and juicy interior - a standout compared to others. A minor suggestion: adjusting the spice level of the sambal prawn and petai could enhance the experience. Overall, the quality and value offered were outstanding. Impeccable service from the team. Kudos to Ibu Sarah and Fareed. Will return and recommend to others.

Gone are the seedy clubs and in place are foodie delights like this Indonesian joint which serves up the tastiest beef rendang. The rempah is to die for, beef was tender and flavour was intense. Ayam penyet was well marinated and the grated coconut was a joy as an accompaniment to the dish. The gula melaka used in the dish was very authentic and definitely a treat to the senses. Definitely return to try more of their beef dishes especially

Ibu Sarah Kitchen is a solid bet if you’re after authentic Indonesian flavours in a cozy, chill environment — good for dinners with friends, casual dates, or a relaxing meal after shopping near Orchard. The dishes are well-regarded, and the vibe sets it apart from typical fast-food or hawker-style spots. If you prefer more substantial portions or milder flavours — or are on a tight budget — maybe pick a few signature dishes rather than order many plates. And for dinner, best to reserve ahead if you don’t want to risk no table. Ambience: Casual, warm, a little nostalgic — with mismatched furniture, plants, cozy lighting, and even a small stage for occasional live music. Best for: Casual lunch or dinner, small groups or dates, people looking for Indonesian comfort food in a relaxed yet thoughtfully styled setting.

The curry was very lemak… rich and flavourful. Kangkong with good wok hei… the fried tofu cube was just average. Blue Pea tea at $7 is overpriced. The set meal is value for money, available on weekends too! Overall, a great place to hangout over a meal on weekends. Orchard Towers is a dead town, hence this is a great place to have a quiet meal over the weekends. The food is good with great service.

First time trying out the food in the restaurant. We ordered the beef rendang, sambal prawns, tahu telor, gulai ayam, fried chicken and a veg dish. The stars of the show were the prawn sambal and beef rendang. The prawn sambal was nice and spicy and the prawns were crunchy. The beef rendang was a delight and the meat was very tender and tasty. We also ordered the banana fritters and chendol for dessert. The fritters were awesome. Service could be improved though, as it was hard to get the attention of the staff when we wanted to place our food order The ambience was great and this place is worth return trips for sure.

Great tasting Indonesian food in Orchard. We ordered the ayam penyet, rendang and oxtail soup. All were comforting, homely and hearty. Will definitely be coming back! Added plus of nice atmosphere, sitting by the window looking onto Orchard road.

I won't show how pretty the dishes look as you can see that from the menu and other people reviews. Instead, I'll show you the empty plates, yea, totally empty! That's how good they are! I even had 2 plates of rice! The Tahu Chabe Garam was delightfully salted, with the fragrance of the fried garlic. This was what drove me for the 2nd plate of rice. The Rendang Pariaman (Beef) spices tasted different from similar rending I've tasted, there was a distinct taste that left a nice after taste on my tongue palates. The meat was tender to the bite and goes well with rice. The stir fried long beans was stir fried with garlic and some delightful spices which I can't identify. They even gave us some complementary ondeh ondeh, this ended my meal with the palm sugar from within spurting in my mouth on the first bite. Each table is adorned with fresh flowers , a nice touch in today's settings where many restaurants use plastic flowers instead. There's even soft music and songs playing in the background, this is a nice ambience to enjoy authentic Indonesia cuisine at. I'll definitely come back to try some other items on the menu which caught my eyes!

If you’re searching for an authentic taste of Indonesian cuisine, look no further than Ibu Sarah Restaurant. My recent visit was a delightful culinary experience that left my taste buds dancing with joy. I ordered the **Nasi Goreng Istimewa**, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The rice was perfectly cooked, bursting with flavors that tastes like home. The balance of spices was impeccable, and the addition of fresh ingredients made every bite a delight. Next up was the **Tahu Cabe Garam**, which was equally impressive. The tofu was crispy on the outside and silky smooth on the inside. Salty and spicy - it was a perfect dish for those who appreciate the art of seasoning. Finally, I savored the **Soto Ayam**. This chicken soup was a comforting bowl of warmth, with layers of flavor that kept unfolding with each sip. The spices were just right, adding a delightful kick without overwhelming the palate. Overall, Ibu Sarah Restaurant is a gem that delivers authentic flavors and a cozy dining atmosphere. The spiciness was just right for someone who enjoys a bit of heat, and the freshness of the ingredients elevated the dishes even more. I can’t recommend this place enough—definitely a must-visit for anyone craving delicious Indonesian fare!

A restaurant that serves authentic, high quality & delicious Indonesian food with a generous portion at a very reasonable price. The beverages are a must try too! (Rose Soda, Ice Tea, Ice Lychee Tea etc.. You don’t have to wait long for the food to be served. This is one hidden gem that you should really give it a shot. The staffs were all very professional, friendly & accommodating. Additionally, the ambience & atmosphere are both fantastic along with great music & I’ll definitely be returning again shortly!

Hands down the best food I've had in as long as I can remember, with wonderfully warm and friendly staff. Came to Orchard Towers intending to eat Thai with my friend, and boy was it the best decision ever to step into this restaurant! Every dish was out of this world...the perfect balance of flavours and spices. Don't even get me started on the Telor Balado and the Ayam Goreng Berempah - I could straight up eat that for a week. That's how good they were. And Sup Buntut is fantastic, Lontong deserves a shoutout too. Charming old school live music with super chill vibes. Family-friendly, and killer vibes for a friend gathering or date night too. Will be back!
