Heniu Teppanyaki has carved out a distinctive niche at Wisma Atria Food Republic since 2012, bringing restaurant-quality Japanese teppanyaki to the food court format at prices that challenge conventional dining economics. Located on Level 4 at stall 24, this mini-restaurant concept delivers the theatrical cooking experience and sizzling presentation of traditional teppanyaki without the premium price tags typically associated with this interactive Japanese cooking style.
The dining setup features a distinctive U-shaped counter that allows patrons to gather around and watch skilled chefs prepare meals directly on hot teppan grills. This interactive format transforms a simple food court meal into entertainment, as chefs deftly handle spatulas and ingredients with the precision and showmanship that defines quality teppanyaki. Every dish arrives piping hot, cooked to order and served straight from grill to plate—a level of freshness and theatre rarely found in food court environments.
The value proposition is remarkable: a complete value set at .90++ includes choice of meat such as chicken, pork, or beef, fresh vegetables including cabbage and bean sprouts, miso soup, and rice. For those seeking more variety, the deluxe set at 3.90++ adds grilled fish and prawns to create a substantial, protein-rich meal at a fraction of typical teppanyaki restaurant pricing. This combination of quality ingredients, expert preparation, and accessible pricing has built a loyal following amongst office workers, shoppers, and Japanese food enthusiasts.
Operating with multiple Singapore locations including 313 Somerset and Parkway Parade, Heniu Teppanyaki demonstrates that authentic Japanese cooking techniques and entertaining presentation need not command luxury prices. The Wisma Atria Food Republic location accepts WhatsApp orders at +65 92383350, offering convenient ordering for the Orchard Road crowd seeking satisfying Japanese meals that balance quality, entertainment value, and affordability.
The word "Big Value Sets" attracted me when I was making the order for my dunner. Thus, I ordered "Signature Black Pepper Beef Tenderloin Set", as shown in the attached picture. However, when the dish was served, I was shocked to see that the amount of beef was half of the amount as presented in the menu. Picture is also attached. I complained to the staff, and a lady in black attire, she is either a supervisor or manager, came to explain, that the menu was just for illustration, and the amount of beef to be served is only 100g. I questioned her back that if that is the case, then the beef in the menu should also show the amount of 100g in order to reflect the correct amount that the custome will receive. This is obviously made to deceive the customers intentionally. She said she will feedback to the boss. I cannot accept such dishonest act, which is not acceptable in business. HENIU, please correct this ASAP.
The taste of the fried vegetable was also below standard. I did not expect that I will eat such awfully fried vegetable from such eatery.
Also, as I did not want to feel the heat of the hot plate, I took the seat at the back with proper table. Unfortunately, it was also a bad choice as the inside space was warm and stuffy. The space was not conducive for a meal at all. I had to eat quickly so that I could breath in fresher and cooler air outside the restaurant.
In conclusion, I will never come back again. I paid a higher price for a lousy experience.

I am writing to whistle blow on this restaurant that is downright dishonest and unethical. I am so blown away by the level of deceit that I feel compelled to write a review to alert the public.
My sister and I had dinner at this restaurant and opted for their Premium Duo Set, and in Chinese the words read - Specially selected 2 persons set. However when the food came , we were shocked to receive a 1 portion serving of beef, it was so little it was only good for 1 person at best. When we asked the waitress, she says the picture only shows 1 plate so come 1 plate. We replied yes , however it says set for 2 persons. That’s when the waitress replied that she’s only working here and that their company has never risen their prices despite increases in GST.
What makes it worse is that , when we made our calculation based on ala carte Order of the individual components - it was significantly cheaper than ordering the set !
Let’s calculate:
Dory fish , prawn and scallop $8.90
Salmon, prawn and scallop $10
Beef steak, rice, veg, soup (salad which we don’t have) $18.80
2 drinks - green tea $2.50x2=$5
$8.90 + $10 + $18.80 + $5 = $42.70
This leaves us with a portion of rice , veg and soup left which is unaccounted for.
We paid $58 for their Premium Duo Set.
Which means we essentially paid $58-$42.70=$15.30 for 1 bowl of rice, soup and vegetables. This is ridiculous !
To make matters worst, the fish was way too salty!
I’m not sure if this restaurant is targeting tourists as we saw many tourists frequenting their restaurant. As much as businesses need to make money, this is not the way to cheat !

Have been here a few times through the years but today's visit was disappointing. After ordering the cook tool at least 10 min just to gather ingredients chatting with a college and not focused on getting the job done. Food quality was average and to be expected for 2 X $13.50 beef sets. But overall below par for what should be simple meal. Management should counsel the staff on customer service.

Counter auntie is always nice. But what the freak is this portion?? Been coming here for ages and this appalled me. It’s like half of what I paid for. And they got my sister’s order wrong and gave attitude

BAD SERVICE BAD FOOD DONT COME.
Utterly disappointed with their service and food.
1. staff was rude and shouted saying that i have to decide and order now (ordered 2 sets first, going to order another 1 later)
2. soup was served with rice and the soup was COLD.
3. long waiting time for the meat to come
4. portion size is decreasing every time i come
Been coming here since before COVID-19 and each time the portion size is decreasing.
extremely disappointed and will not be coming back here again.

Beef was great, black pepper sauce will be put at the side if requested to be non-spicy. Might need to wait if it’s crowed, we got served the some tasty salad while waiting, overall was a decent meal

Value set meal comes with a bowl of rice, vegetables, 1 small bowl of salad and meat of your choice. Worth it! The omelette and mushroom and bean sprouts were so delicious too. It would be great if they were less salty!

Located in Wisma Atria, take the red MRT line and alight at Orchard station to walk towards this mall connected to this station. Travel up to the food court level on the 4th floor and you can easily spot it.
This is the only outlet in Orchard as the other one in 313 Somerset is closed for renovation. Heniu offers delicious and fragrant Teppanyaki at an affordable price. Their floor staff is friendly and helpful with your inquiries and their chefs take your request for your food diligently. When you request for your beef to be cooked medium, it will arrive medium or if you wish to have more garlic, they will comply the best they could. If you don't mind spending $60 for 2, give their set meals a try, it's my go to choice. Kindly understand they currently have a lack of manpower now and I would strongly advise to avoid patronizing during peak hours.
They do have a few tables looking over Orchard Road and the rest is free counter seating which is able to serve an estimated of 40 to 50 pax. Definitely do drop by to satisfy your Teppanyaki cravings.

Simple fare. Meat was a bit too little. But I enjoyed the black pepper sauce thou! Glad that the stir fried vegetables had cabbage in it. The other place at Tamp mall only had bean sprouts. Gosh..haha

Fuss free Teppanyaki. Dine in a weekday lunch.
Order at the entrance and make payment before being assigned seat.
Paid $70-80 for 2 pax meal + a plate of sliced beef add on + 2 chawanmushi. Set meal included 2 drinks.
Flavours were old school and delightful. Like the mild chili kick in the beef cubes and sliced beef. Salmon and dory fish well cooked with a crispy skin, served with sauces on the side and breadcrumbs. Prawns and scallops cooked just right doneness, juicy still.
Pretty filling for 2 pax.
To note, high stools not comfortable to seat long and no places to put your bags except on your lap or on the floor.
