Heavenly Wang at Orchard Gateway brings a taste of Singapore's rich breakfast heritage to the heart of the shopping district. With roots tracing back to 1953 when Wang Jiao (旺角) first opened its doors along Bugis Street, this modern incarnation continues the legacy of serving beloved local breakfast favourites that have satisfied generations of Singaporeans.
The restaurant has earned its reputation through signature offerings that showcase traditional Singaporean comfort food. Their kaya toast stands out with brown bread grilled over open flames, achieving a perfect crispy texture that pairs beautifully with their house-made kaya spread. The soft-boiled eggs, recognised by The Sunday Times as among the best in Singapore, demonstrate the café's commitment to quality in even the simplest preparations.
Beyond breakfast staples, Heavenly Wang specialises in heritage noodle dishes crafted with complex blends of aromatic spices. The menu features authentic laksa, mee siam, and mee rebus, each prepared using time-honoured recipes. Their congee, cooked in rich chicken stock and topped with minced chicken and braised peanuts, offers a comforting alternative to noodle dishes. The chicken rice rounds out the menu with succulent chicken and perfectly seasoned rice.
The interior evokes nostalgia for traditional kopitiam culture, featuring metal shelves stocked with vintage biscuit tins, colourful stools, and white brick walls that transport diners to a bygone era of Singapore's coffee shop scene. Located at #B2-07/08 Orchard Gateway, the restaurant serves both local residents seeking familiar flavours and tourists eager to experience authentic Singaporean breakfast culture in a convenient Orchard Road location.

The food is good. But the staff attitude was really bad. Their bad working style and shouting across from inside to outside is terrible. Especially the aunty inside. The voice and attitude were really bad. I don't even know my bread was ready and should be collected at that location, and she shouted at me for that. I feel I can pay better prices at a more cosy location to enjoy my breakfast than this one. Thanx and Bye

Drinks n bread not bad. But please don’t seat near to the kitchen, very noisy. Got a aunty keep scold colleagues with high volume of voice even for very little things. Can’t enjoy food there. Hope can improve this problem.

Great place for kopi and kaya toast in the Somerset area. We had breakfast here before getting groceries at Don Don Donki. Prices are standard, but the kaya toast set comes with a big cup of kopi, unlike other similar establishments that only offer the large kopi with a top up. The kaya toast was done well, and the kopi was good as well. Great place to have a local Singaporean breakfast.

Nice joint to stop by when it’s off peak.
Located in basement 2 - orchard gateway, right before turning to Orchard Central
Came late afternoon, place is quite empty with lots of seats. A lovely cheaper option for an afternoon kopi-o and chill.

Managed to get a seat with my baby here. Order Mee Tai Mak Set and Kopi. My Q was 92. I have to turn my head to check the Q number cos of my sitting position. While I was feeding my boy, my coffee and food was served by Mr Chin Kim Hove. Excellent service. Never did I expect to be served. He was very passionate with his job and helpful. Love is it the air. Thank you Mr Chin. Appreciate much.
