Gokoku Japanese Bakery brings over six decades of Japanese baking expertise from Kobe to Wisma Atria basement level, where traditional production techniques meet premium ingredients to create authentic Japanese bread and pastries. Opening in September 2023 as the eighth Singapore outlet for this established bakery, the Wisma Atria location at B1-52A/53, 62/63 showcases breads made with quality Japanese flour, wholesome grains, and time-honoured methods including sakadane fermented dough.
The signature Gokoku Shichifuku Pan encapsulates the bakery philosophy—the name means five grains, seven fortunes in Japanese, reflecting the healthy approach that defines their baking. Priced at just .50, these nutritious buns incorporate brown rice flour, oatmeal, sunflower seeds, and soybeans, delivering essential daily nutrients wrapped in soft, flavourful bread. This focus on functional ingredients distinguishes Gokoku from purely indulgent bakeries, appealing to health-conscious consumers who refuse to compromise on taste.
Beyond health-focused offerings, Gokoku excels at Japanese bakery classics. The Jumbo Coronet delivers pure indulgence with rich custard and whipped cream dusted with powdered sugar, whilst the Mochi Mochi series—available in Cheese and Cranberry variations—showcases chewy, satisfying textures that Japanese bakeries perfect. The signature Hokkaido Red Bean Anpan and Malt Kurumi Pan demonstrate mastery of traditional Japanese sweet breads, using authentic ingredients and established production techniques transferred directly from Japan.
Operating daily from 10am to 9:30pm, Gokoku serves the steady flow of Orchard Road shoppers seeking quality Japanese baked goods. The fresh-baked-throughout-the-day approach ensures customers encounter warm bread regardless of visit time, whilst the authentic Japanese flavours attract both expatriates seeking familiar tastes and locals exploring genuine Japanese bakery culture. The combination of health-conscious options, indulgent treats, and reasonable pricing makes Gokoku a reliable stop for anyone appreciating Japanese baking artistry in the heart of Wisma Atria.

my family is a loyal fan of gokoku and we buy many of your breads almost every other day. we were happy to see that the coconut kaya bun has returned so we bought 4 for breakfast today, however I was v disappointed in the measly amount of kaya in the bun… and it was not centralised and super skewed to the side. after i ate half the bread (plain), then another quarter, only then there was a TINY bit of kaya inside. super stingy!!!! also the bread texture was quite dry and hard…

Located in the basement of Wisma Atria, this bakery offers some of the best value-for-money Japanese bakes around. Their breads are consistently fresh, tasty, and fairly priced. Every piece we've tried is incredibly soft and makes you immediately crave another bite. If you're looking for a perfect afternoon snack, I highly recommend stopping by to grab some of their top-selling items.

Japanese treats are arts. The way the make, decorate, and dedicate their time to the meticulous details are intriguing.
Just like the signature bun of this bakery, attracting customers to walk in. Besides this sweet potato bun, the shop has many variety of unique breads and other treats.
Located at Wisma Atria, I believe this is one of its many branches.

i don't fancy the 5 top sellers but the other offerings are 10/10.
their bread is so squishy and soft!!!! i loveee the chocolate mochi (with orange peel) and milk bun.
shiopan was not the best tho - very big but not enough butter and base not crispy. chewy bread texture a bit like a very light fluffy baguette
